I've been using Sunbird for a calendar for a little over a year and am ready to change. I know that Sunbird does not create totally standards-compliant .ics files, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to import Sunbird's .ics file into anything else. So, I got access to a Mac, imported it to iCal, and exported it from there to a proper .ics file. My original plan was to then import this into Outlook, but Outlook won't take it. I just get the error message "vCalendar/iCalendar import failed. The input file may be corrupt." I tried EssentialPIM, but that won't import iCal files, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of way to get it to. I thought maybe I could import my iCal calendar into Palm Desktop and then export it from there as a .pst for Outlook, but Palm Desktop won't import iCal calendars. I tried Rainlendar, which imported my iCal calendar *flawlessly*, but seems to be buggy as events keep randomly disappearing from my calendar. And of course, Rainlendar won't let me export my calendar to Outlook. Maybe I could import it into Entourage 2004 for Mac and then put it on an Exchange server and grab it in Outlook? Nope, Entourage 2004 won't import iCal.
So, I have an iCal calendar that was exported from iCal, and I want to get it over to a PC with either Outlook 2003 or EssentialPIM. And, Outlook's iCal import feature won't work (something that a lot of people seem to be having problems with from a quick Google search). Where do I go? What do I do? I don't care if I have to convert from one format to the next to the next to the next etc. to reach my goal, I'd just like to get there and I'm near giving up hope.
