No, I mean more along the lines of having an unsecured but loaded weapon in plain view. It's not like it's in your control 100% of the time if anyone wanted to take it off your hip when you're not looking. Sure, the odds of that happening are pretty damn slim, but it just sounds so much more reasonable to conceal the thing.

we should also be able to carry c4 packs strapped to us with detonators in plain view. i'm ok if someone wants to open carry, but it's not my thing. i don't see a point.

EPA? My wife works there.....and i work in redwood city! open carry in EPA? yeah right none of the guns there are even legally registered.... i've been considering going to one of these open carry conventions, haven't decided yet if i'll go as a participant, or as an observer though

I think it should be legal 100% of the time to open carry anywhere in the US. However, I respect states rights to ban open carry (or concealed carry). However, this cop is advocating punishing law abiding citizens. If he has a problem with the law, he should push to have the law changed. Drawing down on a citizen who is not breaking the law in anyway is a horrible violation of our rights.

I have a few friends who open carry. Personally I don't do it simply because I don't like the looks and I'm not a political activist.

I conceal carry. It's there, it's accessible, and I don't get thrown off private property (like buffalo wild wings).
