I recently bought an Asus VG236H (comes with nvidia's 3D vision) and decided that it might be time to invest some time into the art of screen calibration.
Problem is that I'm hopelessly lost... I'm using this website and QuickGamma. For the adjustments I use the buttons on the monitor, QuickGamma and in the nvidia control panel. From the looks of it a combination of these is needed to get a decent calibration.
One of the major problems I have is that the viewing angle seems to dictate the gamma value, and a number of other values seem to create varying gamma points on the various colored bars on the website listed above.
What should I expect with a TN panel like this one? I have no idea what I is considered normal. One thing I do know is that I do absolutely want to have the black point set correctly as I do some astro-photography which almost always has lots of detail in the dark tones.
What are the recommended values for this monitor when a temperature of 6500k is wanted and Abobe RBG or sRGB is used?
This is what the screen is set at:
Brightness=0
Contrast=50
Sharpness=0
Saturation=50
Color Temp=User mode, all 3 at 100.
And the nvidia control panel:
Brightness=50%
Contrast=50%
Gamma=1.00
QuickGamma is reset to the default (2.20) after screwing around with it.
