I'm actually in around the LA area and have never been to San Diego so maybe you are right.
Give it a try next time you get a chance...it's tasty.

Whats your place to get them here? I guess the CA burrito is only home to San Diego
i have seen it in l.a./orange county at a few places but i think it is a regional thing. i didnt see any in the bay area but it seems like every hole-in-the-wall mexican joint in sd has it available. as far as quality? sombrero's makes a pretty good one. im also impartial to filiberto's in vista and mr. taco in san marcos. also santana's california burrito is good, and weigh's 1lb! so as far as accessibility goes, stick with sombrero's and santana's.
I love Mr. Taco, but I go to the new one by CSUSM not the one on mission. I also love Santanas' CA burrito. Both Mr. Taco and Santanas have really good salsas.
I live in CA and have never heard of a California Burrito?
Don't think any of the taco trucks around my way have that on their menus. Lengua tacos they do have!
I've never seen The Shield, but I would say that some parts are disgusting. I live in San Diego which overall is beautiful, but there are def some ghetto areas.
Yeah Baltimore was going to be my next question due to The Wire. Ick, that place looks foul.
come to colorado we have real mexican food.
I drive by TacoBell every day, content that I did not stop and order their dirty Mexican food. Every. Day.
This.
Our pizza sucks, chinese people never made it to the state, so the chinese food sucks, but there's three things that are AWESOME in Colorado:
BBQ
Steak
Mexican Food
Hands down the best burrito in California is the super burrito at Gordo Taqueria.
Preferably either the 7th/Irvine location,
Mexican food in Colorado is okay, nothing to get excited about, but not bad.

The California burrito is terrible. Carne asada is juicy and the potatoes will soak up the juice making the innards all soggy. Sour cream overpowers the taste and throws the entire burrito off balance.
If you want a carne asada burrito, eat a carne asada burrito. Get everything else as side items.
I talked to some people in LA and they said the same thing. Maybe its only a San Diego thing?
those look fantastic.
Los Angeles isn't a burrito town. We leave that distinction to SF and their shitty mission style burritos
Los Angeles is all about the mother fucking TACOS
goddamn glorious fucking tacos.
I refuse to buy Mexican food because I refuse to let Mexicans corrupt American culture with theirs. Everyone knows this.
