New England is pretty good in the Spring Time through late Summer

No it's not. It's blasting cold in the winter, and it's fvcking hot in the summer. That's why you have nice places in CA that you can live at ALL YEAR ROUND and be happy.

When I lived on Maui I used to get in "arguments" with a local I befriended, an older man of Japanese descent. He'd complain that there was nothing to do and I (grown up in CA) would tell him he should appreciate the pristine quality of life there, the tremendous beauty, the wonderful weather (he was the local divers' mentor, and even at about 60, he as well as most of the other divers, never wore a wetsuit), the wonder innocense of the inhabitants. We never resolved that disagreement. He felt worn down by the lack of diversity, the limited lifestyle choices (or so he perceived things) and I was fully aware of how brutally harsh life was on the "mainland" by comparison. So, yeah, if I could swing it, I'd rather live on Maui than be here in CA.

I've probably travelled more of California than the people who actually live there and I'll say it wins hands down in the majestic scenery category. But please excuse me when I say it hasn'nt earned it's reputation as the breakfast cereal state. It's full of fruits, nuts, and flakes. Add to that the mudslides, earthquakes, fires, etc. and you can keep it.

There are just as many "fruits", "nuts", and "flakes" in other States as there are in California.

LOL the Anthem for self hating anti social Nancy Boys.
I don't hate myself...I just hate some of the idiots and cultural nuances that define California...or rather the OC and LA elite.

Well, maybe hate is a strong word...how about just dumfounded by the self centered, egotistical and materialistic attitudes.

Not saying you are a self hating Nancy Boy I'm just saying that many of those who are really are into that song.

BTW I'm originally from Central and Northern CA and though there are those who try to emulate what they see on TV the vast majority are just like those elsewhere in the country. In addition the Liberal label given to all Californians is wrong, hell more than 40% voted for the Dub even though he has been shown to be an incompetent President. OC, Central CA and San Diego County are Conservative strongholds. Granted they aren't like the Bible Belt and Texas but that's a good thing.

Political affiliation really doesn't bother me when it comes to dealing with people...the metrosexual jackasses and their plastic sports cars and plastic bimbos in their oversized SUVs that cut me off on the 405 everyday...I don't care if they voted for Bush or Kerry...they just plain suck.

And if you are proud of that then I guess you are where you belong, with all of the other lying, cheating, degenerate, sub-humans in your backward, racist, homophobic, wanna-be soverign, state.

If I am mistaken however, then just ignore this.

I thought I would chime in on something I actually know something about. It is TRUE that Enron and other companies handed their a$$ to California, BUT it couldn't have been done if the STATE of California, its ELECTED represntatives and its Governor(not Arnold) weren't STUPID enough to not only LET them. Your illustrious state ENCOURAGED it.

Next time you try to deregulate a market, please, do NOT hire a Berkley PHD to design your disfunctional energy market

Nope, definitely not just you.

Cali is crowded, hot, polluted, overpriced, selectively abusive of personal rights, filled with materialists and social climbers, and except in the northern areas the scenery sucks.

Only my opinion of course, and I'm pretty selective about where I live.

Good point. Fortunately I have lived in California, so my opinion stands.

Fortunately it's the half that wouldn't be missed.

Courtesy of Wikipedia:

As one of the most demographically diverse states in the nation, California is a dominant force in American culture as well as the nation's economy. It has some of the nation's most important cities, including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, and San Francisco, and is responsible for many legal and technological innovations.

As of 2005, California has the fifth largest economy in the world. It is responsible for 13% of the United States' gross domestic product (GDP). The gross state product (GSP) is about $1.4 trillion ($1,400,000,000,000, as of 2005), making it greater than that of every other U.S. state, and most countries in the world (by Purchasing Power Parity).

Yep CA rocks:thumbsup:

People are flocking to California too, even when prices are high. Everyone wants to live in California. Our population is booming and always will be.

Did anyone already mention the babes we have here in CA?
You mean the anorexic bimbos with the oversized sunglasses, fake breasts, and bitchy attitudes?

Particularly the ones flocking illegally across the border.
