First thing I thought about.I'm hoping Biden can declare an emergency and get money flowing there before Jan 20th because Trump wanted to withhold federal aid from blue states his last term.

I hope none of those people still have cedar shakes. Those should have been gone long ago.
JFC, get over yourself.
Unfortunately new laws are making it impossible for Front Street to rebuild the way it was. It must be turned into a stroad now.GWC a "hoax?"
Wildfire season is now 365 days a year in CA. Here we are in the dead of winter and Los Angeles area is a goddamn firestorm disaster.
Watched the new PBS 1 hour documentary on the August 2023 burning of Lahaina and aftermath last night. At least 102 confirmed deaths, the worst fire disaster anyone alive has seen in America. By far the best coverage I've seen.
What will it take to wake up America?
Fighting wildfires with urban techniques requires a shit ton of water. Especially when I'm sure a ton of people were running sprinklers to protect their houses. But you only have so much capacity in water towers (usually a couple days worth) and when you run out, supply drops dramatically. At some point you have to call out inept management when you see it.
No water coming out of fire hydrants? Hollowed out fire department? And people want Gavin Newsom to run for President?

Shit, I guess gravity is just too droll for those high falutin' Californians.Very few…some in small rural towns.
Water towers don’t work that well in large cities with large elevation ranges.Shit, I guess gravity is just too droll for those high falutin' Californians.
Yeah I was just taking the piss. It just surprises me that the water just dies when the power does... like I expect that shit from my own home but not from the municipal water supply.Water towers don’t work that well in large cities with large elevation ranges.
They have towers, but they were ran dry from massive demand. The whole point of towers is to reduce pump needs, so once the towers are dry no way the pumps can keep up either.Shit, I guess gravity is just too droll for those high falutin' Californians.
While they do often have a man-initiated cause, they don't need to. Wildfires are actually very normal in many ecosystems. What caused the wildfires? At this point I think there's always a solid chance it's a MAGA scum
I understand there are natural causes such as from lightning strikes, but, in this day and age one can never count out malevolent MAGA. They are pure evil. Human ignited wildfires are much more common than natural here in 'Murica. While they do often have a man-initiated cause, they don't need to. Wildfires are actually very normal in many ecosystems.

Sounds like fire is gonna shrink LA to 1/3rd the size for a lot less effort.best urban sprawl are 4 story concrete apartments, which create walkable neighborhoods with minimal traffic pressure while resistant to natural fires. Also they would shrink LA to 1/3 size of what it is today
Just gotta run those windmills in reverse, problem solved. Not enough forest raking?
No sprinklers in the forest?
How about some giant fans to push the big wind back?
Biden declared today. The one lucky thing is this happened before the inauguration.I'm hoping Biden can declare an emergency and get money flowing there before Jan 20th because Trump wanted to withhold federal aid from blue states his last term.
I think there's place for you in the Trump administration. At some point you have to call out inept management when you see it.

On the news tonight they said miles!Embers are almost assuredly what's setting stuff on fire deeper into the urban areas where there is no forest to speak of. they can travel quite a distance.
0.16 inch of rainfall in L.A. area since April, i.e. a massive drought. Wind storm of up to or over 100 mph winds of exceedingly dry air. Not having out of control fires would seem to be virtually impossible.I understand there are natural causes such as from lightning strikes, but, in this day and age one can never count out malevolent MAGA.
