We passed a prop measure to add more $ to education. As for the government jobs, cuts have to be made somewhere. AFAIK, the courts took it on the chin the worst. Honestly, the court jobs that were cut were far from essential.
CALPERS retirement was also modified to reduce benefits effective 1/1/13:

Obviously everything isn't going to turn around in one year but it's a step in the right direction.
And the money that was supposed to go to education went to teacher pensions. People always fall into that trap when voting for supposed "education" taxes.
