Call blocking with my cell phone

So I recently got a new cell phone with a new number. Only a few people know this number, but for season there are strangers calling me at odd hours of day and night. Do I need to subscribe to some server to block numbers or is that not possible. I have a Sony Ericsson W350 on the AT&T network.

curious if you actually listened to a few calls and/or heard any messages left behind? I know that for a time I was getting calls asking for a female (I'm a guy) and even a collection agency. Person before me must've changed her number without telling a few people...

I listened to the voice mails, it's wrong number. My greeting is pretty clear, so the people who kept calling are clearly stupid even though they know they have the wrong number/person. And then there's this number that calls me that sounds like incoherent noises. It's really weird.

i think it is something you just need to deal with, answer the call and tell them it is no longer whoever they are looking for.

Wrong, it all depends on your phone and carrier. I know that BB phones have a feature on the phone it self that lets you do something similar, or has apps that let you do it. There are also carriers that can block specific numbers for you, but they'll charge extra to do so.

Most likely the person that had the number before you got behind on their bill and they closed the account. They throw those numbers back into circulation pretty quick. It'll stop eventually.

My phone (Samsung) has a reject list. Any call from a number on the list won't make my phone ring, it'll just show up as a missed call.

I used to get that, i had a heating/AC company who kept calling me like every other week saying their tech will be at the Safeway store in the afternoon to fix something... why would they leave a voicemail when my message cleary is not a safeway store or the guy they are they calling. they would always say "Hey jeff...." i would call the number and leave a message for them telling them that they called the wrong number AGAIN. but they didnt stop.

they finally called when i could answer and chewed that guys ass for being such a retard. then the calls finally stopped.
