Call of Duty 2 experience?

before i played the demo, i read about the low framerates that all the video cards are getting
i expected a slideshow with my 7800 gtx with settings at 1600 X 1200 2aa/8af with all settings to max

however, to my surprise...the game is really smooth...it's like i'm getting at least 50 frames/sec although i don't know the real thing since i didn't benchmark it

can anyone explain this strange result?
because supposely....even 7800 gtx can't handle this game at these setting

I think it has something to do with the HDR. Cant seem to turn it off even when the option is set to off.

Edit: Force directx 7 mode and it runs like a dream. Must be the shaders, it could do with some optimizing.

Theres something about that game that just isnt quite right w/ the graphics engine...

runs fine with everything on, on my 7800GT. Not buttery smooth, but totally acceptable framerates.

if the actual game plays anything like the Demo...I'm going to love this game. It plays very well on my laptop at 1280X800 with pretty high settings, and I only have a M9700 with 64mb and 1GB of RAM. I have to turn everything down on BF2 and play it at crappy resolution to make it run halfway decent.

Something is very wrong there. I have a superior system and can barely scratch 1024 with everything off or low.

well...it's all relative. I'm comparing it to how BF2 plays on the same laptop. I say "pretty high settings" which means 2X AA/AF (which was turned on as default and I didn't change it). It looked really good and I got about 30FPS constant which was very playable.
