They say it every year, but Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare looks like it will bring the first meaningful change to the series since Modern Warfare. The below multiplayer gameplay video offers a "deep dive" on how the new exoskeletons and customisation options will affect the final game, as well as the new Air Drop mechanic, which looks like Sledgehammer's olive branch to loot addicts.
The exoskeletons do look cool, but if you're resistant to change you'll be able to play exoskeleton-free. Oh yeah, and there are tsunamis too. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare releases November 3.

Look interesting, but the Exo ability to jump looks like a bunny hoping nightmare. Do you know how hard it is to kill a bunny hopper? LOL

After looking at their list of the 100 greatest games that just came out, I think I will use PC Gamer as a contrarian indicator.

Seriously I would love to have another great COD game with a good single player campaign, but have pretty much given up on that ever happening. Advanced Warfare sounds interesting, but Crysis has already done the exoskeleton thing.

I think the game looks good but not good enough to buy. I already own Titanfall which is too similar to AW for me to bother buying it. I feel like Titanfall has a better movement system such as wall running and double jump. It looks clunky in AW. Wouldn't mind getting it just to try it out though and play the campaign.

COD has been console focused for so long now I'm surprised AW has a thread here instead of that forum.

I played the last one since a buddy fell for it. I only got to play first 30 secs where you follow the brother and then the game crashed since it won't run past that if the Steam library is on the external drive.

Metacritic scores, reviews and user experience have been taking a dive for nearly a decade:

Activision is loling and trolling with prices because they can, the consoles user base enables them since it is more tolerant because they don't know any better.

I'll be here to eat my words but I doubt it will be any better than previous games.

Someone make a 20hr single player shooter with a story that isn't 100% generic already. Like the original Far Cry. You know, before multiplayer killed shooters.

I bought the last one thinking they learned their lesson but they ended up making the game worse. Didnt purchase any DLC and left the game in the dust after 10 hrs of game play. Waist of money. Still cant beat Modern Warfare one.

Got Black Ops 2 for free at a Activision/University give away and didn't play it past the first level since it was basically an on rails shooter.

I haven't played any since then.

So it's basically "Call of Duty - Crysis / Deus Ex DLC pack" edition? :whiste:

"New never been seen before" features include:-

- "Boost Dodge" = Push X to auto-strafe with pretty screen blur effect.

- "Boost Slam" = 'Jumping on someone's head can injure them'.

- Exoskeleton's : Speed Enhancement / Enhanced Jump / Reduced Falling Damage / Ballistic shield / Cloak / Anti Missile System / Health Regen Enhancement / Spy Drone = An almost total rip off of original Deus Ex's (2000) Augmentations.

- "Random tsunami" = BF4's Levolution.

- Spammed medals every 3 shots - ideal for kids with "mommy issues" who require their parents to clap & cheer every trivial minor "achievement" to feel "special"!

- "Multi-player focus" = An excuse for an overly cinematic on rails 4-6hr SP "campaign" with a cheesy-B movie plot.

Watching that trailer, you can almost hear and FEEL the total lack of originality in their "committee" design meetings. "People loved Crysis & Deus Ex. Let's steal all that stuff, shove it in and call it innovation. No-one will notice and our main target audience will be too young to remember them anyway..." :biggrin:

Titanfall has that COD feel all in it,the best thing is how they recently brought out a pilot only game mode which gives the game a entirely new feel,that of a COD+ Crysis deal. Lets make a Battlefield game where we toss the guns and we collect kittens and snuggle them!:biggrin:

To be honest I didn't like Titanfall too much and it seems like the hype train on it died out pretty quick. The addition of trash mobs in a shooter was a bad idea IMO.

Didn't like TF either, although the gameplay is basically fun I don't want/need Titans, bots, small 6v6 games and ridiculous waiting time between matches. Not to mention being paired with 5 noobs and getting raped by 6 guys on voip who have actually trained together for a videogame.

Just want a simple shooter, some customization is ok but not too much, no jets/choppers raining death from above, no heartbeat sensors no shields or any other shit. Guess I'm waiting for BF:BC3 and hoping they don't screw up.

Please have dedicated servers and be good on PC. I am so sick of dice and their broken games I will play COD. Ghosts would've taken alot of battlefield fans had it not been broken.

COD needs to crash before it can get better. As long as the cash keeps coming they will keep taking the most profitable route, annual recycling. Shame, considering they have 3 studios working on a single franchise.
