I was begging to lose interest in BO but recieved a new interest with the Wager games. I really enjoy the endless frustration of Sticks & Stones... though I have a feeling this will fizzle quickly...

Yeah I can usually play pretty solid (a few hours every night) for about two weeks straight. Then I have to pop something else in just to mix it up. I don't want to get burnt out on it until the next one is released.

BC2>MW2>BO

I have officially made up my mind...

Slowly going back to BC2 on pc...all the exictment of BO is gone, it's just a whirpool now...die...kill..die...kill..kill.kill..die...get noob tubed...die...get sniped...die...get noob tubed...die...get killed by camper in corner...kill camper in corner...die...
host migration...server disconnected...kids yelling...power off

Can't wait for BF3.

So you prefer running running sniped wait running running running sniped wait running get in vehicle tked wait running running sniped fist in wall.

Only thing in bc2 I liked was motion sensor balls. Everything else sucked.

I really hated being killed by people with skills as snipers on BC, but I love being killed by the AI vehicles on BO.

The nice thing about BC2 is that you can snipe,. and actually snipe. Stay alive then entire match and never be spotted or killed. Where with the Call of Duty games, the maps are so small that you can't find a good "hiding" spot unless your glitching.

TDM got old for me pretty quick. I held a fairly high k/d ratio and, at the risk of sounding like I'm bragging, it just wasn't a challenge. Then I started playing HQ and CTF. I've been playing those for about a month and it's not even remotely stale or old to me. There are still some players out there who just sit around and ignore the objectives, but they're few and far between.

It was a simple yet brilliant move by Treyarch to track different stats by gametype. In MW2 a lot of the objective modes were unplayable unless you got extremely lucky or just played with friends. But by removing the incentive to ignore the objectives, Treyarch gave us much more coordinated objective gametypes.

I'm a CoD player and I will agree with this. BC2 is definitely easier to snipe. Unless you get lucky it's tough to get more than 4 or 5 kills while sniping in CoD without dieing.

I think the recent patch has made sniping a little easier. The psg1 is now a 1 shot kill if you hit people in the same location as you did with the L96. Plus the psg1 has lower recoil and is semi auto... making it almost similar to the Barret almost. Still, I'm not much of a sniper, but I play with them here and there.

TDM just feels so pointless. CTF, Sabotage, Domination is where it's at for me

What drives me crazy is getting on team that wants to TDM when were trying to attain objectives. Idiots FTL

LOL - - I see your point, but if you aren't going to be able to snipe, why have sniper rifles?

The only time I can snipe I try to get my first kill with the pistol and pick up somebodies LMG or SMG, then I can switch back to that while i'm running from one location to another.

That is very true, although it makes no sense for anybody to compare the 2 games. They play completely different.

Well, you can snipe - it just doesn't dominate the game like it does in BC2... and you can't snipe on every map. Grid, Array, Kowloon, Jungle, and Cracked are but some of the maps that lend themselves well to sniping if that's your thing. Are there more efficient ways to play the game? Certainly. The maps in BO are generally smaller and more densely populated than they are in BC2. Try to run a dominant sniping strategy in BO is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. That's not to say it doesn't have its place, though.

In the objective games you'll frequently find a sniper on each team covering critical routes or the objectives themselves. That's the niche they fill in this game. If you find more than one on a team, that team will lose. 1 is helpful. More than one is stupid.

And even if there's wasn't a niche for them to fill, omitting them would draw cries from snipers everywhere - "how can you have a military shooter without sniper rifles?!"

Agreed! In TDM I don't see how anyone does good with a Sniper with all the running and gunning. You can't sit still for more than a few minutes without someone running up behind you.

Ever think that maybe the problem is YOU?

Sniping in BO is possible, and has been since the game came out. Was it perfect at release? NOPE. Is it OP now? YUP. Difference? You still CAN'T quickscope. And that's great.

But I can maintain a 3:1 ratio 4 out of 5 games using PSG1 w/ ACOG, CZ275 w/ Full Auto, Lightweight Pro, SoH Pro & Marathon. But that's not sniping! I still maintain 2:1 using my PSG1 w/ Variable, CZ275 w/ Full Auto, Ghost Pro, SoH Pro or Scout & Hacker.

But you have to know what maps you can snipe on and what you can't, and you can't get frustrated when your tactics don't work. If they don't, either adjust and learn new strategies or switch to an AR or something. Just because you can't do something that they've made OP doesn't mean it sucks.

The original question was comparing BC2 and BO. I said that the maps are smaller on BO, I think we can agree to that. I didn't say it was impossible, I said that it's tough to get a good kill streak going on a smaller map because people always come up behind you.

Personally I don't hardly ever snipe, i'm just putting my two cents in on the map size. I have 15 thousand kills on BO and 7 thousand of them are with the AK74U, so i'm a run and gun guy.

For those that are able to Snipe on BO, my hats are off to you. I get busted by snipers and think "wow that was amazing", so i'm definitely not saying it is impossible.

You're definitely not going to burn up the leaderboards by sniping in TDM. TDM is a quicker-paced "run-n-gun" game, and you really can't fit into that atmosphere with a sniper rifle. You could in MW2, but that was largely due to the "quick scoping" issue, which to this day still ruins that game.

I don't play all of the objective modes, but I value a good sniper in CTF and HQ. A good sniper in those gametypes can play a critical support role and, if good enough, can effectively hold down a point on the map and free the rest of his team to go on offense. Be effective at that, and your team will LOVE you

I haven't played all the new maps a ton yet, but I could see some Sniping happening on Kowloon and the one with the bridge.

I would like nothing more than for cod to lose smiling. I get frustrated seeing a sniper on my team because the game simply isn't designed for it.

Yeah it depends on what type of game, as well as which CoD were talking about. BO IMO is hard to snipe on.

CoD 4,5,and 6 I thought it was pretty even when it came to sniping maps vs. non sniping maps. I like to see it even that way no matter how you like to play you can find a map to suit your needs.

I always thought it would be nice to have a perk that removes the killcam from people you've killed. That would be great for snipers.

Whenever I get sniped, I go right back to where that sniper was and I come at them hard. I love killing snipers. That wouldn't be as easy without the killcam.
