Thanks for the heads-up! I had no idea they took away the dadgum pre-order credit...

A heads up for anyone who pre-ordered the game from Amazon. While they've taken away their $20 pre-order credit, several guys from AVS have had luck just getting in touch with their Customer Service and asking for said credit and having the $20 taken right off the top of Black Ops. They did this for me when I called with a legit reason for them to do so, and a few others decided to give it a whirl and (to the best of my knowledge) most have had success.

Oh sure, they had basic suppressor for pistols at the time but the technology to suppress an SMG/LMG didn't exist.

they had a few suppressed SMG's, most notably the STEN came silenced.

I chatted with them, and while I didn't get $20 taken off my order, they are issuing me a $20 credit to use towards my next purchase. I already have $80 in credits so I don't need to use the $20 this time anyways.

On a side note, is anyone here buying the hardened edition to get the extra maps? I'm thinking about it just because I have the credits but can't decide.

I've contemplated it, lots of the AVS guys are getting it but $20 for 4 extra Co-op maps is pretty steep..

I just tried with no luck. Sounded like I got an Indian call center though. I might try tomorrow during the day if I remember, otherwise I will cancel this and hold onto my NewEgg $49 pre-order.

Well I cancelled my Amazon pre-order, re-ordered using the $20 credit the chat support person gave me along with the $20 credit I got for pre-ordering MOH. Basically got $40 off the price so I ordered the hardened edition.

Glad it worked for ya!! I keep going back and forth on whether or not to upgrade to Hardened as well, but in the end I just don't think I'll play the 4 maps enough to make it worth the extra cash. It already comes with several Zombie maps, most of my time will be spent on MP, and $20 for 4 maps is ridiculous (you can argue that it also comes with an avatar outfit and a different box...but you'll lose me on that arguement).

When I called it was because they cancelled my order due to their pricing error, so I told them that I ordered the game whilst it was still had the credit and I wanted the credit. That worked for me, here's blowfish's post from AVS:

I had read on CAG that guys had emailed CS about the former $20 preorder credit for a future purchase that is no longer available for BO and I figured I would give this a shot. Got a response today and they will be issuing the $20 credit immediately and apply it to my order for BO.

If they do what they said BO will cost me $9.99 (I had a $10 promo credit and a $15 GC and their price is currently $54.99).

Dell has Black Ops for $49.99 plus a 3 month Live Gold card. Unsure if I will choose this over NewEgg; not a big fan of Dell.

Any chance we'll see 4vs4 with two consoles? Even 2vs2 would probably be enough for me to snag two copies.
