I'm with you, I don't think it's going to have the same epic feel that CoD 4/MW2 had but I do think it'll be pretty good. Having watched a bunch of the videos though I don't see the same level of polish that was present on the IW games. I feel almost like they're sacrificing quality for quantity, as there is a TON of new stuff in the game.
MW2 did not have an epic feel. COD4 was epic. MW2 was over-the-top, overdone, and over-produced chaos. Treyarch seems to have reined in the design and taken a more deliberate, calculated approach to formulating the perks. From what I've seen of the maps so far, it seems they're getting similar treatment, which is good.
Using the word "epic" for the 7th iteration of a series isn't practical to begin with. Will this game be epic? Not unless it can wow consumers the same way COD4 did. However, what it *will* be, I believe, is extremely fine-tuned. COD4 was fine-tuned. MW2 was a Bugatti engine jammed into a Mercedes. I want my Mercedes - with its Mercedes engine - BACK.
I'm glad stopping power is gone more than anything else. It was such a dominant perk that you always put yourself at a major disadvantage in every single firefight by not using it. Now theres actually a reason to use the other perks in that tier.
Exactly. After doing a little dance over Commando's corpse, I was delighted to see the absence of Stopping Power. SP in some games was almost a mandatory perk, which meant you really couldn't enjoy experimenting with the other perks because of balance issues.
