has any one else has problems finding games? i have crappy DSL in the sticks and can see why i am having difficulty. however, my bud with cable modem couldn't load a game, kept getting dropped.

maybe give it a few days and let the mass of people ease down?

I've been playing the single player, and I don't really like it. You're constantly rushed, there's never a break in the action its kind of annoying. Don't stop for a second to find out what you're supposed to be doing or you die. I'm at one specific mission and I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing. It doesn't tell you, it just puts a marker on the map and to get to the marker is basically certain death. I had to look up the mission online before I found out what to do. It's barely hinted at in the dialogue.

Yeah, the servers are a little janky right now. Not really anything new for such a major game launch, there are over 3 million people playing BO on xbl right now. Thats like the entire population of a major city. I mean, there are countries smaller than that...pretty crazy.

Yeah, I was having a hard time connecting so I'm taking a break for a while. Will probably fire it back up tomorrow.

So has anyone really played zombies yet?
I've seen a whole bunch of stuff about the single player/multiplayer.. but no one has really mentioned the zombies.

I played for a little bit just now, and it seems interesting. Similar to the old ones, but with some neat additions. Anyone have any opinions on it?

Yeah... some of the stats that I see tick across the bottom are pretty insane. I saw one that said "global kill count is currently 0.05% of the total world population"

That was at like 3pm.

I like it so far. I hate learning new maps that's for damn sure. I suck, as always but it's fun. I don't know what seems different from MW2, it just "feels" different but in a good way. I just rented it today but am sending in MW2 and Red Dead Redemption tomorrow to best buy will buy once my $60 gift card gets here next week. I can live with $30 a piece for two old ass games.

MP only, I don't even start up SP. I have never played more than a couple levels of SP in the whole series, only reason I played it at all in MW2 was to see the hubbub about the airport level.

So my quick impressions. A bit of MP and Sp

SP wise...kind of meh start. I get im some black ops agent but otherwise its just a messy story so far. Plenty of bad guys to kill. Nothing to exciting, another CoD campaign really.

MP...So far im at the it is ok stage. Selection of guns and stuff at this point is pretty much lame. I feel like the only choice is the assualt premade class. Not doing to bad with it but i feel like i dotn have any choice.

Maps feel so big. Open with some CQB but for the most part i can stay outside.

As for assualt rifles and "sniping". I've had no problems picking enemies off with the m16. Even the full auto's as long as you single fire im sure they are about the same.

Not to bad gonna have to play more and unlock more stuff thats for sure!

Spo a few things of notes

Man has knifing seemed to change! Might be just me but it seems like you dont "lunge" at the enemy at all. Seems like countless times i feel im on top of an enemy and i miss my knifing. Just totally different than MW2 (even knifing in MW2 without commando)

Tons of spy planes so im thinking level 10 (when ill probably do my 1st custom class) ill go with the ghost.

I want to say to each and every one of you.
With all the love and affection I can afford...screw all of you.
I'm stuck in on a business trip a thousand miles away from my Xbox.
Sincerely,
Foghorn.

I would never buy this again..

and I love shooters.. even bad ones like the latest MoH..

Single player was pretty slow going for me, until I hit Vietnam. Then the music, the hueys,.. I was in heaven! It changed pretty quick to an all out blood bath, but enjoying the SP more then I was at the beginning. Its somewhat glitchy in spots and doesn't feel polished, but I have always enjoyed every COD single player stories and have played through them all. This one will be no exception.

Multiplayer is taking some getting used to. I do like the ability to buy attachments instead of unlocking them.. thats nice! Its just taking time learning what weapons work for me. Right now, the RPD with a red dot. I need to quit being a tight ass and buy the extended mags already. The gameplay feels different to me, just can't put my finger on it.

Looking forward to putting in a full day tomorrow playing.

So...the first trip into the Pentagon...was that a cigarette that lady was smoking or a baseball bat?

Anyways, I played the single-player up until the mad NVA rush on the Khe San level. Got frustrated at the part where you're supposed to push the NVA back down a hill and then cut over. Quit because the path was always filling up with enemies and my AI teammates were no help.

I finished the story today and when it was all said and done, the only thing I could think was WTF was this? One of the dumbest stories I have ever played in a single player game. Will check out the MP tomorrow.

I don't get that at all. Sure, the weapon models didn't get the same attention that they did in MW2 (which could just be the result of Treyarch not being privy to the engine updates IW made that made those models possible), but they certainly don't look bad. The maps themselves, in my opinion, look every bit as good as MW2. Hell, these maps even have a consistent theme to them. The jungle maps are particularly well done IMO.

If you liked MW2's style, then it would feel that way. It's not necessarily a step back - just a step in a direction you don't like. To me, that's what MW2 was: a step back. To each his own, though.

if i remember the right part, is that where the AI teammates keep telling you 'their in the trenches' or something like that? if so, that part was a big PITA and i remembered thinking 'i would hate to be playing this part on veteran'.

AI in this game was all over the place. kind of matches the all over the place story.

So I've unlocked the final two weapons: the commando and the g11. Both are very powerful. Despite it being a tiny little carbine that shoots 5.56 ammo in real life, in game, it's a relatively slow firing, accurate, very powerful weapon. It definitely does the same damage as the AK and Galil. Not quite as slow firing as the SCAR-H or anything, probably just a little slower than the enfield, but it takes people out quickly. Iron sights arent the best, but I definitely really like the gun.

The G11, however, is an absolute beast. The attachments for it suck - basically a sniper scope and a Cod4 style ACOG (sway and all). But the iron sights are perfect, and with a 48 round clip, it basically has extended mags built in. It shoots super fast for a burst, both in the speed of the burst as well as the time between bursts. It basically outclasses the M16 in every possible way I can think of except for reload speed, which isnt really that terrible anyway. I'm seriously going to miss it when I prestige. I'm not sure how or if they should gimp it slightly, but its one of the few weapons where you can say it is clearly superior to another in the same class. I didnt feel the same way about the other classified weapons, but this one is just ridiculous. Not akimbo 1887s unfair type ridiculous, but it is a damn good weapon in the right hands.

there is no way you played single player and said it looks like a first gen 360 game...

the graphics and detail in the campaign mode were pretty amazing pretty much the whole game.

Yeah, that part was the hardest part of the game IMO. I basically just had to rush through it, I always felt like there was something I was missing that would have made it easier. I cant imagine how its even possible on veteran, it was so damn hard on regular.

so far I think they fixed a lot of what annoyed me about MW2. I like how they made it easier to keep a party together, although my party was having constant problems trying to stay together when entering a game.

Zombie mode is lame so far, I just don't "get it" yet... like how are you supposed to turn the power on. I don't think I care enough though.

Everyone needs to check out the Combat Record. OMG statgasm.

Oh and after viewing some of the requirements to get "pro" of the perks, there is no chance in hell I am doing prestige mode.

And speaking of prestige, it says I've played about 19 hours, not sure if that includes the few hours of wager matches. I'm already lvl 44, at the rate I'm going, I'll be able to prestige in about 4 hours. It usually took me around 50ish hours to prestige in mw2, so they've basically cut in half the time it takes to get to max level. I was kinda hoping it would take about the same time as mw2. I like prestiging and all, as the game doesn't feel nearly as fun to me when I'm not leveling up, but I was hoping to have the higher lvl weapons stick around a bit more. Oh well.

I really dont think its due to them not paying enough attention. I think theyre honestly just limited by our 5 year old consoles at this point. Its impressive what they can cram into that 512mb of memory, but when you see things like textures fading in on the weapons and models at times, you know theyre squeezing every last ounce out of these consoles, and then resorting to hacks to squeeze a bit more. The weapons look as good as MW2 to me, but if there is any reduction in detail, its surely a tradeoff they had to make in order to get in all those weapons in the first place.
