Ak74U is freaking amazing. I love this gun for all short to mid range fights. Long range its a little bit tough, but there isn't a ton of that.

Throw it at the headquarters or bomb. It might not kill outright, but itll def dissuade people from running into it. Buys a few seconds.

Likewise, equip tac mask and throw it at the site, then plant in cover and safety.

It has it's uses, just not in tdm. It's extremely situational.

Yeah it's pretty useful in domination. I have used it in TDM some as well when someone is hiding inside of a room. It's a nice distraction.

I have been very happy with the MP5 with red dot so far.

The M14 was ok but since I am a full auto guy the single fire didn't work to well for me.

I did pick up the Galil once or twice in a game and thought it was pretty good too.

Man I am LOVING this game SO MUCH... and I am CLEANING HOUSE lol. k/d 2.06... just under where I was with COD4 (just under 2.15). In MW2 I struggled to keep it around 1.5.

Had the chance to really get into zombie mode late last night with 3 other friends who take zombies seriously and know the tactics to last a long time.

There was only 1 map available to us, dont remember the name of it, but its the nazi theater one.

We were coasting fairly easily through the 15th wave; after that it got a bit harder.. the crawler zombies are pretty tough and fast. The dogs (every 5th wave?) are easy once you know the best spot to fight them off.

There is 1 door that leads to the outside (where some good power ups are located) that if you open will start an invasion of zombies, dont open it. But there is a long way around that will take you to the same spot (takes longer because you have to open 4 more doors).

Also in the basement of the building is where the power switch is located for the transporter. To activate the transporter you'll have to flip the power switch. Turn on the transport pad and then finally go stand in the transporter - it takes you to a special room for about 30 seconds where you can upgrade your gun for $5k. Definitely needed if you want to survive into the 20th swarm.

Be careful of the booby traps that are in some of the rooms, they work both ways... you can activate them to kill zombies, but if you hit them by accident they instantly kill your team (as we found out the hard way).

Looking forward to unlocking the other maps!

Great tips, thanks. I played Zombies a good bit on WAW. It's ridiculously fun to play co-op with some friends.

Maybe we should start an AT Zombie Hunting Party? AT Zombie Killers?

Find a good location to which to defend from:
usually its a room that has 1 or 2 windows, and a long hallway leading up to the only entrance in the room, provides a great killing zone as all the zombies are funneled down the hallway. Such a room exists in the nazi theater; from the starting location go under the balcony and open the door to the left.

Find the random gun box:
There is a gun box that has several spawning locations, find it early and get some good guns, the death ray is the best gun in the game. the box will change locations multiple times a game. keep trying to get the ray gun, the light machine guns are also good (HK21 especially) as they have lots of ammo (you'll need it).

Hold a zombie (extra time between swarms):
to go unlock doors and get the power ups you'll need some extra time, the time between swarms isn't enough. You can get extra time, by "holding" a single zombie behind a repairable window. have 1 team member stand a ways back from the window and hold "X" and as the zombie tears down a plank from the window, run towards the window - that will repair the window and keep the zombie stuck behind it for as long as you keep doing that process. Be careful though, the zombie can still hit you if you stand too close or time it incorrectly.

Has anyone fallen victim to any glitches?

I honestly haven't seen a single one... and to my surprise, the XD-RC isn't being abused like I thought it would. I hear of maybe 3 or 4 per match (includes both sides) and I've only been killed by it three times since I got the game Sunday (and thanks to Treyarchs kickass stat tracking, I could give you an exact number on that!)

You can also just leave one zombie alive (or make a crawler with a grenade, heh) and have the one player run away from it while you go other stuff.

When I played Zombies on WAW, we would knife zombies as long as we could to save ammo. I think you get more points too. Do everything you can to maximize points in the early levels. Rebuild all the walls. Get your dough and go buy good guns.

In the later levels, it's all about knowing good points to defend and the effects of opening certain doors.

I just had my ass handed to me 5 matches in a row, a couple of which were very horrible on my part. There is honestly nowhere you can run without getting shot from the side or back. I'm also unfortunately going up against players who are a hair quicker on the trigger than me, which is frustrating as well. If I run around too much, then I can't recover in time to get enough shots off or I miss an enemy in a side alley that comes out and kills me. If I slow down and try to be methodical, I get shot or stabbed in the back. I never was amazing at this game though, so I don't really guess anything has changed.

I honestly feel like a lot of the maps in TDM are a little too small though. Once your team gets spread out (and it will happen), then you have people spawning everywhere and you never know where the threat is coming from.

one thing i hate and like better in halo3 is that this game loves to put you into a game mid match. usually they are completly lob sided battles. that i just end up quiting and looking for a new game.. matching making should just put you into a lobby for a new game.

That seems to be the nature of the COD series and why I'm turned off by it. It's too spazzy, you gotta be so quick and precise and there's no tactics at all.
Plus I'm probably three times worse than you.

I was fairly decent at MW1, I could usually stay around 1.5 k/d ratio, occasionally ripping off a 25-8 match or something like that. I didn't play it all that much, mainly offline with friends, then completely skipped W@W. I played very little MW2 online, and now I'm just way behind the curve I guess. Doesn't help I'm getting older and my reflexes are failing me. :awe:

Still a ton of fun though, even in that match I went 5-15.

Oh sir, there are tactics. You're right, you have to be quick. After all, it is a game about shooting the other person before they shoot you. But make no mistake about it, players whom use tactics, strategy and patience have a hell of a leg up on those who just run around without thinking about what they are doing. That's why knowing map layout is one of THE most important things in this game.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but I love how the game highlights teammates' names and map arrow a light blue to indicate they are in your party. SO helpful when you're playing with a friend and trying to work together.

K so I tried multiplayer for the first time. I'm at level 7 after 4 or 5 matches. I thought you could buy guns outside of the levelling system? Like I thought you could buy any gun at any time assuming you had enough CP. So far it seems like I'm only able to buy a gun once I level enough to unlock it. If so, how is this really any different?

Also, Nuketown seems like a pretty fun level, I never used to like the small maps in COD4. What I don't like is all the guys who run around with RPGs and constantly shoot them into the windows.
