Does it annoy anyone else when Domination players don't really seem to understand objective based games? I play almost entirely Domination and another player will see me capturing a flag, with radar showing no enemies in the area, and they'll run right past me, going who knows where. Or they'll be 5th or 6th place with 0 captures, 0 defends, and either a 1:1 K/D or slightly worse in either direction. If they want to play Deathmatch, why not play in that lobby instead?

So true. I'll be capturing the flag, a teammate runs past, then just when I'm about to get the cap, I get killed.

Just had a S&D game, was 11:1, and the host dashboarded. FUUUUUUUU

edit: just happened again, 13:3. It seems half of my S&D games end with the host dashboarding. I play mercenary moshpit, so I don't play many of them.

After having played some more, I officially hate Hazard for Domination. Why? Because at least half of each team is just sitting in one end of the map sniping at the other.

I did however enjoy running my SMG class over to where a couple of the enemy snipers regularly camped around the bridge, laid down next to them, teabagged them, got right in front of them, etc. And then mercy killed them like the little dogs they are!! :awe:

Well I kinda got burned out on the regular game lately. Noob teammates pissing me off too much.

Went and tried the wager matches again and it rekindled my enjoyment of Black Ops. I had never played them before, except for one in the chamber. I'm really liking gun game and sticks and stones. Sticks and stones is really only fun though if you go in expecting to not win. I get stressed out enough playing this game already, so I only play the ante up class.

I still play the game regularly, but the last two map packs suck so bad. Only redeeming factor is the zombie maps from them. shangri la's easter egg puzzles were awesome.

Hazard is good from Annihilation, but I don't really like any of escalation's maps. First Strike was fantastic though.

Man, had some amazing games last night. Went 71-4 on a Silo domination match, then had a couple of huey+dogs matches on Havana. Then, at around 12ish I had huey+dogs again, and the blops server went down?? WTF oh well. It felt like the servers had to shutdown to cool us off cuz the team was just on fire.. haha

Best Buy clearanced out all their PS3 Prestige Editions for $14.99. Almost all of them were from their warehouses though so you had to be lucky to find one in store.

Domination on Hazard is good, but bad. If you know how to cheeze by camping the B house and having a few friends cover the back alley way, it's game over for the other team. Me and my team do the same thing, and we win each time. When we spawn at A, we give it up to grab C so we can camp that B house.

Been trying to get marathon pro, and it's been a pain. Can't get anyone to play CTF on my crew. Need like 3 more caps. So, I played with randoms last night. They sucked... as alway!!. I got 1 flag cap early in the game and wanted to get more, but these guys could not defend. That's all I asked them to do, the easy stuff.. camp. Everytime I got a flag, ours was missing except at the very beginning.. arrggghh. I put up counters all day, and called out dogs for em.. we still lost.

Hotel is decent from Escalation and Hazard is decent from Annihilation. I really don't like the rest. I like the First Strike pack though. Jungle and Havanna are my fav. all around maps.

So yeah... there's probably more people playing black ops online than any other FPS on a daily basis. No, map packs aren't free. Whether they're worth the money or not, that's up to you to decide. There's plenty of info out there on the map packs. For me, the Zombie maps made the deal. Each Zombie map that was included in each map pack is worth the price of admission each time.

Well, Black Ops was my most played console game. I have finally given up on it though. Was fun while it lasted but I am just plain bored of it now.

Have you tried combat training? The bots are stupid, but they are super accurate so you have to kill them quickly once they see you. Start on Recruit level and then up the difficulty once it becomes easy.

If you're on 360, I'd be happy to play with you in a private or bot match and offer some input.

They've played it for a while, and understand the game's mechanics, map layouts, etc. I remember playing mw1 a little bit online here and there, but was never good at it. My kd on MW1 is like .60 something. I started off in MW2 at like .7, and played enough to climb up to 1.42. By the time I was done with playing MW2, I had the gameplay for the COD games down pact and started off at 1.8 in Blops. I sit at 2.4 now.

Now that I understand the game, I've gone back to MW1 a few times and play much better these days.

My best advise would be to watch the kill cam, and pay attention to what people that play well are doing. There's even theatre mode now. You can go back and look at how a guy dominated a game, and try to emulate what he did when you land on the map again.

I can definitely see how discouraging it can be to new users. Its such a popular game, and online the level of play is so high. But the base mechanics are very simple, and its just a matter of just sucking it up and playing...you'll get better without even trying.

It definitely would help to get on the ground floor with MW3 when it first launches. The first few weeks/months, the level of play is much more reasonable as a lot more casual players are online then. In the later months it gets a hell of a lot tougher.

Still, I've been playing FPSes and CoD since their inception, and I'm still nothing more than an average player. There's no sugarcoating it....playing online can be brutal for a newb.
