Just some quick notes for now:
- The scale seems to have been tweaked (for the better). Other players are larger on screen. The difference is subtle.
- Weapons feel good, but are probably the most generic across the board of all installments. In other words, no sense in fretting too much about which gun you pick.
- The number of perks you can equip is just silly. This takes the game away from a solid "rock-paper-scissors" formula and deep into the realm of pure randomness.
- Typical IW map design, which is NOT for the better. Since MW2 their philosophy has been "more complex + more shit = better maps" It's too bad they didn't learn anything from the success of Treyarch's map design approach in BO and BO2. Less is more. The maps aren't bad per se (they're much better than MW2 and MW2), but BO is still king.
- Audio seems muted/subdued. Like there's something missing from the middle of the spectrum.
- I still don't really get the point of Squads mode.
- Controls have an ever-so-slight sluggish feel to them. Not to the point where it affects the experience. It's only noticeable if you've spent a lot of time with the previous installments. Don't let this scare you off. Just a mental note I made at one point. It's still light years ahead of Battlefield in terms of feel and responsiveness.
All in all I like it and would rate it fourth among the "modern" CODs:
MW > BO > BO2 > Ghosts > feces > MW3 > ebola > MW2 > Miley > W@W
