The numbers from Steam alone would have paid the very marginal costs for IW to port this to the PC. I fear we are screwed, that our future is cheapo console ports with small maps, no lean or prone or anything else not easily accommodated on a console controller, and total developer/publisher control over content. Why would any major developer take a chance developing content taking advantage of the PC's strengths when that time could be more profitably spent designing downloadable content for the much larger console market? Why would any publisher let them, when a very small amount of effort will produce an additional revenue stream almost as big as a separate design? Why would any developer or publisher want to allow dedicated servers and modding content when it can totally control and profit from additional content AND kill the game when the follow-up comes out? After a few years gamers won't really remember they used to have big maps, extra commands and controls, big battles, dedicated servers, free mods and maps.
Screw it. I'm old, I can live without computer gaming, and the small developers and modders may yet surprise me. Hey, at least I don't have to buy a new video card. LOL
You guys act like the PC makes .00000000001% of what the consoles make. Multi-platform games sell less because they usually aren't that great. When a quality PC exclusive comes out, it will make a lot of money.
