I guess Korea doesn't get much love is because all the weapons are essentially World War 2...I guess it's more fun shooting scripted Nazis than it would be to shoot hordes of Chinese in open ended gameplay...at least that's what the developers would have us believe.

But Korea did have some new weapons introduced en masse. The Chinese had the AK-47, the Americans had new tanks, arty, the M2 Carbine which was an automatic and arguably America's first assault rifle. If Treyarch wanted to get creative they could feature some prototype assault rifles being "tested" in Korea by fabrique nacional (British SAS using STG49s or w/e).

I had thought about the M2, but not what was on the other side of it.

I also forgot that Vietnam would bring SKS and even the FAL. Let's go commonwealth, bring those FALs into these videogames.

It's just going to be Modern Warfare with a Vietnam skin. There's zero reason for them to shake it up since the way they are is selling so well. I don't need to play the same game 4 times over.

Unfortunately, this will probably be the truth. :\

I actually have high hopes for this game. I thought W@W was better than MW2 in almost every way. MW2 was the highest grossing letdown in entertainment history. Worse than the star wars prequels. Well, maybe not that bad....

This game actually looks exciting. The angle they're taking on it seems very interesting.

And if communist zombies will be in it, I am getting hard already.

edit: think if you could unlock a Huey gunship on a zombie map!! How ****ing badass would that be? And the gunship would run out of gas or you'd have to land it on the airfield and grab some ammo/gas to refuel it, and quickly before the zombies get you.

That'd be pure epic.

No one has ever done a good Vietnam game (imho)...it will be interesting if they pull it off and stay accurate to how the war went down.

BF: Vietnam wasn't that bad, and Vietcong was excellent.

Did you ever play Vietcong? That's the only Vietnam game that captured the mood for me.

Vietcong, especially the first one, was phenomenal. :thumbsup: It was a blast to play multi-player, and the single player campaign was brilliant in my opinion.

I need to load it up and play it again.

I thought the Vietnam fad was over? BF: Vietnam was not bad, but I think I was one of the few that liked it. Anything with the CoD name will be a mindless nade fest, so I am guessing that at least now they do not have a nade launcher for their M16A1?

The M203 was available in 1969 according to wikipedia. Before that, there was the Colt XM148. My guess is that the U.S special force people had these weapons long before regular troops.

I'd buy it I don't think there's ever been a Civil War shooter, I think there was a mod or two, but nothing beyond that.

More love here for Vietcong. The first one was excellent. It's been a couple years since I played it, but I remember it being very realistic, had quite a good story and a reason to keep moving. I liked it so much I actually finished it, which is rare for me and FPS.

I also can't believe nobody has started bitching about Treyarch. Where's all the "Treyarch? Psh, I'll never buy anything by them again"
