I have just recevied a email from the golfbargains.com. myurl
They have the Callaway C4 driver onsale for 169.96 dollars. I have seen lots of people using this driver and if you use this driver to hit a ball, I am pretty sure most of people can tell you are using a C4 driver from Callaway due to the hitting sound it produces.

Beat me to it.
There is also a 20% off coupon floating around.
It was posted on their website for a while, but it is no longer there.
It is still active.
Just picked one up for $140 shipped.
There are also Scotty cameron pro platinums for ~160 shipped.

Chizow,

Could you tell me where you got the Hawkeyes? I'm looking for one as a late Christmas gift. Thanks.

I got it on sale at a large local golf wholesaler in the DC area called Washington Golf. I got it for $160 as they had a sale about 2 weeks ago.

I finally get to throw some golf knowledge.
Although this driver was 'the thing' to get last year, it was designed for old men with very slow swing speeds, aka seniors. This is not meant for most younger people that are probably shopping around in these forums who can swing out of their pants with no accuracy. The club is very light to increase the swing speed with a sweet spot the size if Texas. Basically anyone can hit this far but to control your swing and to be consistent, you need something not designed to explode in any direction. The clubface also is not designed to optimize faster swing speeds, it collapses under those conditions.

what is the hottest golf club these days?? Drivers of course, and irons too while you are at it.

Callaway's Great Big Bertha II just came out last month. Sure to have a lot of hype going into next year.
Ping, Callaway, Nike among others all had new iron sets come out late this year.

this club is on clearance for a reason. it is suck. worse than the VFT, which was an unqualified failure. the light shaft and immense draw bias made damn sure it was unhittable. like the VFT, any ball hit on the toe side of the actual sweet-spot was a dead-duck. that's why it didn't last. remember, most drivers have a shelf life of 18 months or so. these came out on Valentine's Day of this year. you do the math.

as for hot clubs now, the GBB II is selling well, even though they are allocated at 6 per account until February. the Taylor Made r500 series is also hot. for 100 bucks less, however, you can get the "driver of the year" according to golfweek. the Cobra 427 and 350 both sell for 299.99 retail. they are price protected, but most independent retailers will sell them for 269.99. wholesale (after discount) is around 198. for irons, the new ping I3+ irons are hot. the bounce angle has been softened a hair, the leading edge rounded a little, and the hosel also softened. most importantly, the shaft is lighter now. the new NIKE pro-combo irons are great, too, but designed for the 0-8 handicapper, and worst of all, if you need custom specs, or want a better shaft than the junk NIKE has in them, they are quoting June as the earliest you can get them. TM has two sets of forged coming out after the PGA show as well. if you have any other questions, please PM me, i'll answer them all.

the new Callaway irons (x-16) are not available until January. most importantly STAY AWAY FROM NIKE DRIVERS!!!!!!!! the quality control right now is shite. of course, someone is going to post "I love mine!" great. you got one of the few good ones. trust me on this. i've dealt with them hardcore on this. that's why the drivers are also marked down at least 100 bucks from what they were. word of mouth=no good!

Most players get sucked into the marketing of the big companies. While their clubs are quality you should work first on perfecting your swing and worry less about cache in your bag. I know my play would not justify a set of Callaways.

good point, but at least stay away from aluminum cheapo sets, and don't fall the guy selling you component clubs. those are pushed due to their 100-200% mark-up. they are not "the same" or "as good as" the other stuff. they are margin driven sales. period.

I was at my local GolfSmith and they had a Taylor Made 360 demo with the UST ProForce 65 shaft for $140. Add a 15% off coupon and you pay about $120 plus tax very good driver in my opinion. I regretted not waiting and buying my Adams ST. Anyone know about the new TM RAC irons?

The RAC's feel heavy, like the Deep Red's, and they have A LOT of offset. Just demo'ed them.

The C4 is a nice feeling driver, but sounds chunky. Def reco for someone with a s-m-o-o-t-h-e-r tempo.
No masher will like it, very light shaft.

I still have my x-12 Pro's. Just havent found anything i would be willing to trade them for.
My driver is a Cobra 427.

Oh, Diamond, I will be at the show too--do you have a booth?

Wasn't there a tournament Tiger played where something was rattling in his Nike driver for a round and he was forced to use a 3 wood the rest of the way? If they can't get his clubs right I'd be afraid to see what the average Joe gets.

BTW: What are the X-16s going to be like? I just bought a set of used X-14 Pros on eBay and haven't even broken them in yet.

It was a problem with the shaft, not the driver head.
