I'm wondering what some of you have tried to keep your head from looking too shiny.

I ask because Phil on American Idol last night is bald but his scalp wasn't shiny at all.

Does some sort of powder or something exist to help with this?

Mine starting going when I was 19, after one year in the Navy.
It actually filled in a little after I got out. But overall, its going. I'm 27 now and am pretty sure I'll be an egghead before I'm 35. And I wont fight it. I refuse to spend thousands of dollars on products that might possibly work. I'll just go smooth when I feel its the right time.

I blame my diminishing hair on the military. Trompsing around with probably 10 pounds of helmet, night vision gear and MILES training equipment strapped to the head can't be good for anything. I'm 28 now and its definitly thining on the top.

I too will not fight it.

Maybe an 80 grit sandpaper? 40 would be too course, 100+ would probably be to light.

80 would be just right. Should take away a litle of that sheen.

I'm sure that the guy on AI most likely has make-up in his head. A bald man's head is just going to be shiney there's no way around that unless you want to powder your head all day...YIKES! My husband's bald and I think he's just adorable just like he is. There's nothing stupider looking on an old man than a "hair hat"(wig)!!!!!!

90 year old man with Jet Black hair.

I started loosing mine at 16...tried some of those products but they didn't help much. Figured it wasn't worth paying for them anyway and got over loosing my hair.

I use:

Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer(SPF 15)

I get a matte finish, but it feels greasier then lotion, & feels a little tacky.

Any sort of mild matte lotion. Gotta be careful with that stuff, though, because it can make your head greasy which would thus make it shiny again.
