Calling all DFI LP NF4 SLi-DR Owners to share there experience before i buy it

Hi All

This is regarding DFI Lan Party NForce4 SLi-DR Motherboard.

Please Guys i wanted to ask a very very serious question.

- Have you faced any sort of problems after using this motherboard or any minor issues.
And are they rectified in the next BIOS.
- Did anyone get a faulty or damaged Mobo.
- Do they have international Warranty.
- Do they have incompatibility issues with any thing.
- Has it got any issues with value ram like Hynix or Transcend.
- Will the future Venice and SanDeigo Core AMD work with it.

I am asking all this because i am asking one of my friends friend in US to get it for me
in India as we dont get it here.

I am worried if anything is wrong with the Motherboard i would be in big big trouble to
get it replaced as i will have to wait for someone to go back to US and then wait for
someone to come back again.

Please guys help me out in confirming.

The best thing for you is have your friend test it before sending it you or if he's not tech savvy to have him buy it from Monarch computer with a processor. Because they test it for you and make sure it works before shipping. Additionally if you go the Monarch route you could them an e-mail explaining your situation and ask them to take a little extra care in testing your setup. They will do that as my experience has been that they attend to matters with personal attention.

1. Setup went totally smoothly for me. The only problems I have had have been related to my overzealous overclocking attempts

2. My motherboard was not damaged in any way shape or form.

3. I don't know about the warranty...the mods at DFI street forums are DFI employees and should be able to answer that question for you. Have a look there for all the info you ever wanted to know about this board plus a whole bunch more.

4. The boards are highly picky about RAM and PSU.

5. As a general rule, avoid any RAM with the term "value" in it's name with this board. It'd be pointless anyway, like putting a lawnmower engine in a Ferrari.

6. Yes according to the info at DFI street.

Hope that helps. I am very happy with my board. I switched from the Asus board to get better overclocking. If DFI keeps making great boards like these and offering the level of service they do, my future boards will be DFI's as well.

My friend has had problems running this board in dual channel mode with corsair 4400 ram it bsod so he has to run it with only 1 dimm atm

no sorry it works in single channel mode with both dimms

Have had no problems with my corsair 4400xms2.5 in dual channel mode, i have the memory in slots 2 and 4 but believe there is an issue if you have it in slots 1 and 3, but apparently there is a beta bios that fixes that issue, i think?

venice boots fine with shipping bios based on the build i just did

century child summed it up for me. i love this board.

only things i will add are i did have problems oc'ing hynix ram but it ran fine at rated spoeed. no big deal, use a divider or get decent tccd or vx. use a 24 pin native connector, not an adapter.

be sure to visit dfi street so you can get some ideas of what you may need compatability wise for your board. all users have sigs there with system specs so it helps aloteven if you just browse around. and as mentioned, the mods are dfi tech guys so they can answer anything you need.
