Im in a bit of a dilema here, ive been a long time abit user and have never had my hands on any epox board before.
currently i am looking to purchase the 8RDA+ and need some input of the long term stability of all epox boards.
is it going to give me a headache and crap out on me in six months or will it stay with me for the long run?

any suggestions will be appreciated.

thanx

All of my computers are currently running Epox boards.. 2 8RDA+ and 1 8KHA+.. all with Thoroughbred "B" xp1700+'s

The 8KHA+ (KT266A chipset) is currently running an xp1700+ @ 1.8 GHz and is well over a year old. Extremely stable. It's my fileserver now

The other two boards are only less than two months old.
The first 8RDA+ is my primary computer, running an xp1700+ @ 2.41 GHz w/ Corsair pc3200 low latency memory. Also extremely stable for gaming and other heavy uses.

The second 8RDA+ is running an xp1700+ @ 2.11 GHz w/ Crucial pc2700. Again an extremely stable board.. the only time it goes down is when I modify the hardware or have to reboot

One characteristic of Epox boards are the diagnostic LEDs which allow you to troubleshoot any problems that may occur in the system during the bootup process. Epox's boards have generally been very good overclockers, and the 8RDA+ is more proof of that. Epox is without a doubt a winner

My computer's been running an Epox 8KHA+ for maybe a half a year, can't really remember - I bought it used on the forums here. Still running fine.
Before that, I had an 8KTA3, which I bought new in Feb of 2001 (archived messages are good); it's now in my dad's PC, still running fine.
My sister's PC is using an MVP3C board, which I bought new on eBay in December of 1999 for my computer, but it got upgraded out long ago. It too is still running fine.

I'm an Intel kind of guy, but I'll throw my $.02 in. I run an EPoX in my main P4 rig. Couldn't be happier with it. Great overclocker, very stable, great quality board. I've been running it for almost a year now. No regrets.

I use to use all Asus but I have just about changed to Epox, They make a great board and they have a tech guy on the other fourm all the time, Asus just doesn't have the time for something like that or any of the others that I know of, That tells me Epox wants people happy with their boards

I have had an 8kha+ for over a year now and just replaced with the an 8rda+. I will be using the 8kha+ and the xp1600 that was in it for a new rig for my 6 year old.
My XP2100 is running @ 2.22Ghz on the 8rda+ and I couldnt be happier.
Epox + OC (enthusiaist community)=GOOD

Good choice... it has an X-ray of a cheetah on the retail box, so you know it's got to be good

Removing the northbridge heatsink and replacing the thermal pad with thermal grease was the first thing I did. If you do it, make sure you add enough grease to fill the gap, since the northbridge has a concave surface on mine... took quite a bit of thermal grease before I saw it marshmallowing out from under the core of the heatsink.

Only complaint I had was the suddent death of one 8K5A2+ board I bought. Got it replaced and the replacement has been working flawless since then (almost 6 months).

My 8K5A2 is running fine for 6+ months, my friend got an 8RDA, and both boards perform well, and was extremely easy to setup

EPoX is a great company. My Mobo manufactor of choice.

The Epox 8RDA is a great board. I've got the non-plus version and I actually like this board better than my Asus A7N8X. It's certainly a better overclocker.

Methinks the x-ray is that of a grayhound...
