Well I don't even see the point of being in a lobby unless you wanted to meet/play with random people or you wanted to catch some media that's being broadcast. Anything with your friends would be through apartments or the XMB.

Apple has a knack for over pricing their stuff.
Sony doesn't make good products any more.

right now getting a PS3 is a waste of money unless you want a blu-ray player. I'd wait a couple months because some killer games are coming out.

I bought one 3 months ago because I wanted a blu-ray player at the time. The good games don't start streaming in until April.

Xbox360 build quality is considered good with all the reports of overheating? MS software is good with all the security problems?

I would call Xbox360 quality average...

I have to wait a little longer before I make a judgement on my PS3. My fat PS2 survived 3 years than was buried for a slim PS2 that is now collecting dust.

I'll be picking one up soon as I get a new monitor (my current doesn't support HDCP so I cant connect the PS3 to it). I used to bad mouth the PS3, but a few days ago I played motorstorm and Virtua Fighter 5, and now I'm sold. Plus movies look balls awesome on it.

I use my PS3 as a Blu-ray player first. I only have a couple of games (F1, NBA Homecourt, NBA 2k7), but I'm not much of a console gamer. I do have all the demos though, and the games that area available look pretty good. Some of the games coming up look even better, like LittleBigPlanet, Heavenly Sword, GT 5, Killzone 2, etc. Xbox was never a consideration, as I dont want an MS console. I did buy the HD DVD addon though and hooked it up to my HTPC.

If you want blu-ray and already have PS2 games, and $600 wouldn't take food off your plate, then go for it. I personally didnt see any point in waiting, as I wanted HD movies, and even if there were 100 PS3 games, it wouldnt make the console any cheaper...at least for a couple of years. I dont have any remorse. The styling, UI, and functionality are stop on. Just need more software, which is coming slowly but surely.
