calling anyone that has a gigabyte GA-965-DS3 and running OCZ gold pc6400 ddr2

i was just curious if anyone had this setup going. I was trying to confirm if there were any problems with the ram and bios. I dont really know much about the timings/voltage stuff

im building a new comp and im not that experienced and after all i read. i dont want to get a mobo and have my ram not work. I dont have any other type of DDR2 to even get into the bios to adjust the voltage if something doesnt work =X

I have this setup, and my comp won't get into BIOS. I read soemthing about the DS3 not supporting anything over 1.8V on the ram from this forum, so I was thinking about picking up some cheap 1.8V ddr2 ram and setting the BIOS to run 2.0V for the gold ocz and see if that works, and then returning it . Anyone else have any experiences?

I have that Gigabyte motherboard and I'm running Patriot PC2-6400 2.1V memory without any issues.

I just completed assembly of a system with this board and I used Corsair CM 2X 1024-6400 XMS2-6400 RAM. Today I ran Memtest86 and had no problems. What does Gigabyte say about the RAM you're using?

Gigabyte DS3 + OCZ that requires over 1.8V = no boot.

It'll boot with crap ram, and you change the voltage to 2.1v - but thats is seriously annoying...

Mellman,

It doesn't work like that.....if you have trouble booting with OCZ ram, then you need to contact myself or anyone else at OCZ and we will get it taken care of.

All OCZ DDR2 ram boots at 1.8V, if yours doesn't....then we need to fix it, simple as that
