<< In the future, GM is supposedly rolling out a new kind of V8 which can shut off 4 cylinders while cruising on the highway to save gas...hows that for creative use of technology. >>

it's been done.

I feel like bragging a little bit. If any of you other guys got pics of your cars, post them up. Note the effective use of Zaino (one of the few products that actually works BETTER than advertised).

SsZERO 2001 Trans AM WS6

The WS6 looks so sexy because it combines the beauty and beast aspects so gracefully. Another car that is a close runner up to the WS6 would be a 67 Corvette Stingray.

No problem guys, hope you enjoyed them. Just trying to educate some people about the Maxima, its not as boring as it seems!

ssZero, the folks are Maxima.org do have technical knowledge, well some of them do. You just have to wade through a whole lot of BS posts to find the technical ones. But the truth of the matter is, a lot more people can afford dash trims then say a supercharger or a custom turbo kit. A few of the members have designed and installed their owned custom turbo kit which is pretty cool.

Laust: glad you enjoyed them. See some Japanese cars do have torque =)

yes, i know that they're NA also. i was just responding to your remark that "You can get more fuel/air in there by increasing displacement, or by forcing it in with a turbo or SC. Different methods, same result." by pointing out that the M3's engine is NA.

and yes, when it comes to racing, total output is what matters. i'd be stupid to deny that. but it would be nice to see the LS1 pump out 80hp/L NA.

as for GM's new "creative use of technology" by shutting off 4 cylinders, BMW and Mercedes have been using it for a while haven't they?

as for the 18-24MPG, my dad's boss averages ~16MPG. i mean, how many people are gonna drive a Vette like a granny?

as for interior quality, the Vette's sucks ass. that's the biggest beef that i have with american cars. most of the money goes into the engine, while eveything else takes a back seat. the long awkward looking shift knob in the camaro/trans am looks awkward to me.

i prefer this style of shifter

I believe Cadillac first came up with it, correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks! Believe it or not, that is just one coat of Zaino. I just took my sweet old time...about 6 hours when all was said and done.

That's what I heard...as far as I know, there is no such engine in mass production yet...though prototypes may currently exist.
