Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Website description is minimal. I'm wondering if the subwoofer has a wooden box or if it's plastic (looks like plastic).

Also wondering why people haven't jumped on this as it's been available for a while and posted before. These are not Dolby 5.1 capable, that might be one reason.

I just got mine in. The sound great! Sub is a hard plastic case and it's pretty powerful (thumps the floor nicely). CS makes nice stuff....don't think they actually ever made anything that sounded cruddy. Glad I bought them!

EDIT- BTW, these are being discontinued, that's why they're not available from CS's website.

Heheheheh....here's an indication on how good these are: All of the guys in my office liked them so much they all got a set. There was so much bass thumping from everyone's office (everyone set up rap licks for their email notification) that a memo was passed around that stated "Subwoofers have no use to the productivity in our deptartment and therefore will not be allowed in the office."

Nobody listens to memos, so no big deal...just thought it was funny that I caused a memo

right now i have a pair of yamaha speakers from 1995 which are probably really cruddy speakers... not only are they really old but it's a 2 piece that are really cheap. My sound card is the onboard Epox one. I was thinking of buying the 16$ CMedia sound card listed here

I'm not a sound freak, but I do enjoy quality audio. Will I gain anything by just buying this pair of speakers but still keeping my epox onboard sound, and if I do go ahead and buy the 16$ cmedia (chinese new year is right around the corner!) will the speakers be good for that card?

YES! If you have a 16 bit sound card, you will notice an improvement....and EVERYONE has a 16 bit sound card (at minimum ).

Heh, I got the Logitech 560's....plugged in the sub at work to test it out with some "Bass Test" mp3's........ people were poping their heads up all around the office and also looking out windows for one of those thumper-honda civic's.....


I recieved a similar note from my manager....but he also wanted to know where I got mine.
