Came up on 4 pounds of wild mexican shrimp. What to make?

No thanks. I'd rather not practice what poor people in China do, as they don't know any better.

I also wish they'd open Amazon Fresh in my area. I'd get a consulting job and never leave the house!

sheeeeeeeeiiiittt, the deep fried head from the amaebi is damn delicious. and if the "poor people in china" are having that on the regular then i need to be them.

With 4 pounds of wild Mexican shrimp I would probably cook up 4 pounds of wild Mexican shrimp. What's stopping you?

Gumbo with Shrimp and Andouille is my favorite shrim dish... with etouffee and Jambalaya closely behind. I want to go back to nawlins again!

But I bring nothing new to the table, as you yourself mentioned gumbo, and there have been mentions of etouffee and jambalaya already in this thread.. Of course within the world of Jambalaya, you have your read Jambalaya, as well as your rural jambalaya (no tomatos), and then you have the weird cajun jambalaya where they cook the rice seperate ... I'll stick with the nawlins red Jambalaya, it is delicious.

As someone who has had a lot of gumbo, it ain't worth it. It just isn't that good. I've had all the "famous" crap in NOs as well the "bayou master secret only momma knows the ingredients". It leaves a lot to be desired.

2) It's simply labeled "mexican wild" but from a high quality purveyor. Since I bought it through amazon fresh, I did not get a chance to ask the purveyor the provenance of the shrimp.

Most people I know don't eat the shells. I do cause I'm either lazy to remove it and once the shell is gone, all the seasoning that was on there is gone.

I don't know why Asians cook it with the shell.
