It seems to me the Honda Accord has gotten uglier with each new generation since the mid 1990s. They are bland, inoffensive designs, but keep getting worse and worse, and IMO the current sedan is their ugliest design yet.
The Camry, on the other hand, was on the same trend in terms of appearance, but seemed to have righted it with the fifth-gen car during the 2002-2005 timeframe (not a bad-looking car IMO). The new one, though, is just hideous. It might be the ugliest car currently on the road (I believe the Pontiac Aztek has been discontinued). It's almost as though Toyota is daring people to buy something else. What the hell are they thinking? Toyotas have always been cars to appeal to the head, not the heart (other than the Supra, MR2, and 2000GT), but it's one thing to be dull, and another to be pug-fugly.
I think these awful-looking cars are clearly good for Mazda and Nissan, who have taken advantage of them, and the Americans (who largely have not), but it seems like a poor marketing tactic to me.
