OF COURSE YOU CAN. Dude, you can do anything you want pretty much (within the realm of societies laws and such, but even then.... ). I'm average to slightly above average. I know when I go out there are guido looking guys that seem more attractive on the surface to girls, but I walk in a place like I own it and exude confidence. That's not something you can fake, but you should until you get in the habit of it.
As long as you're secure in yourself it will show through. I NEVER look at a girl as unobtainable. I recommend you find the most attractive girl you know and become her friend. This flies in the face of all logic, but it will pay off big in the end. Once she feels safe and comfortable around you she'll open up and tell you things about women most guys will never know. Also, there's a good chance she'll have hot friends and as you hang out with her you'll meet them. Just get out, do new things with as many different people as possible. Don't "hunt" for it though, what comes to you will come to you.
If you do land a hot chick that's half the battle. Just treat her well. Most girls can tell how a guy will treat them by looking at the relationship he has with his mother. Sex, is also a big deal for women, even though they say it isn't. Don't try to knock her brains out the first night. That first night should be all about her, not you. Take your time and make foreplay last as long as possible, THEN have sex. As time progresses, sex with her should only improve. It's always awkward to some degree or another the first time, and most women know this. Once you "learn her" though you can refine that game. The "first time" also ALWAYS gets reported back to her friends, so that's why it's important to get her close to climax before you do the deed and run the risk of being a "minute man". If she goes back to her friends bragging about how she couldn't walk afterwards they're only gonna want to meet you more, and that COULD get interesting for you.
Always take her out and HAVE FUN with her.
Don't worry about other guys hitting on her and losing her to them. If she cheats she was too shallow for you anyway. If she's happy with you she'll stay with you despite some guy trying to push up on her.
That is the biggest hurtle in dating a hot chick, there's always competition, and she usually has "guy friends". So if you can't deal with that you might as well give up.
