can any burner software browse & burn data from a networked client?

seems like NERO certainly cannot do the following:

Computer A & Computer B are networked.


Computer A has a cdr burner & runs Nero.

Computer B has 10 files need to put onto cdr.



Either 1. transfer 10 files into computer A

OR

Have burner software Browse to computer B and highlight the files to be burned.


Any burner software can do this?

map the shared folder on Computer B as a drive on Computer A. Now, it'll show up as another drive letter in the drive listing in Nero. You should be able to burn the files from there.

Just remember that you're limited by the speed of the network for how fast you can burn. If there's a 100Mbps connection between the computers, just streaming the files over the network as you burn them shouldn't be a problem.

I haven't tried this in a while, but I was able to do this with NERO, just browsed through the network and the other computer's shared files. My connection was only 10 Mbps so it was very slow. 100 Mbps should be fine but buffer undrun is nearly required anyway. One thing thow is that large files spent time to cache the file and then burn from network anyway, no idea why. What version of NERO do you use?

I thought you could just "browse" into the computer (as long as you had your shares set up correctly) like every other Windows Program. And yeah, as was mentioned before, make sure you network is capable of handling the file transfer speeds.

Roxio will do it by browsing. Nero must have a mapped drive letter to allow it.

I highly recommend burning locally. At speeds over 12x! BURN Proof, JustLink, et. al. will only help so much.

by default I think nero is set to cache certain types of files. If you have fast enuf network, you may want to turn caching off in order to speed it up.

did you mean you highly recommend burning over the network at speeds no faster than 12x?
