With the Christmas Race coming soon the TAS:ers need our help to figure out how many points per day their computers will get.

So list your computer CPU type and speed and the client you run on it and the expected points per day.

TAS:ers could list computers they would like to know how many points to expect from it.

This information will help Peter to set up fairly even TeAms

EDIT: Dual Xeon LV 1.6@2.5 Ghz (old, with small L2 cache) - SMP client - 650 ppd

P4 Northwood 3.3 Ghz - regular client - 125 ppd (more if you get bonus WU)

The benchmark P4 2.8 - regular client - 110 ppd

PS3 - 900 ppd

2.4GHz Q6600 3Gig RAM running Windows Vista & F@H SMP client: ~2200 PPD

Windows SMP client is a bit quirky though: reboot in the middle of a WU and you may lose it.

I'm not familiar with the clients, but assume I'll use SMP on dual-core and Regular on single-core?

Opty 170 @ 2.4Ghz
Opty 165 @ 3.0Ghz
E4500 @ 2.6Ghz
P805D @ 3.2Ghz
P820D @ 3.0Ghz
Athlon mobile XP 2000+ (quick for what it is )
P4 @ 2.0Ghz (no HT)
Athlon 1700+ (slow as snot)

All of them have plenty of RAM and drivespace..

thx.

That depends on how the machine will be used. SMP can not run as a service, while regular client can. So if this is say a work machine then you would need to use the regular client, home machine SMP.

A64 2800+ @2.4 (linux) = ~ 250ppd
X2 @ 2.2 with SMP (XP Pro) = ~ 880ppd

Q6600 @ stock with SMP (XP Pro)= ~ 1,465ppd (this is a remote machine of mine, so it's a bit of guesswork on the ppd).

x2 4200+ @ 2.75ghz (socket 939 2x512k cache) DDR 333 using the SMP client (XP Pro) = ~1000ppd
If running the GPU client and a console client then x1950pro gives ~550ppd and console on spare core gives ~240ppd. total = ~790ppd.

BTW, I'm running F@H on a quad core, right now its only at 25% of each core, should I just run 4 instances of F@H or is there a way to get it to recognize all 4?

Run the SMP client (once). It was built for 4 core processors. You can run it on a dual core, but on a quad is really shines.

I looked into that, but it requires me to set a password on my computer. I'm not putting a password on here just to run a SMP program!

I know what you mean, I struggled with putting a password

You can run four regular clients. When you configure. If you want a chance to get bonus WUs, make sure to answer yes to > 5 MB and, currently, don't use the advmethods flag.

EDIT: also when you configure, make sure to change the MachineID for each instance.

Not sure if you need to add the -local flag on the newest client? Anyone out there know?

yep, you need the -local flag on windows ii you have 2 or more clients running (according to the instructions at F@H). You don't need it on linux.

My folders are all over the place, most are running full-time and pulled in about 25,000 points last week. Maybe 4000 ppd possible during the race?

I have ~25 (P4/AXP/A64 .5-1.5GB RAM) PCs = ~2500-3000 ppd
1 dual Xeon 2.8GHz/4GB with 2 std. clients = ~250 ppd
1 Opteron 2.4GHz/2GB w/ X1950Pro/256MB = ~300-500 ppd
1 CoreDuo LV 1.66Ghz/2GB = ~200 ppd (will add for the race)
1 PS3 = ??? ppd - just added a friend's PS3 (woot), but don't know what uptime will be like

X2 @ 2.5 smp => 1033 ppd - Gamer/folder, seems like most low end X2s (maybe most/all dualies) are getting the fat 2653 WUs worth 1760 pts
AXP @ 2.2 => 88 ppd - Why? Like old shoes, cozy yet functional 4 every day use
Duron 1.8 => 65 ppd - Rly why? Space heater/shareware tester, should (will prob thx to Cooler Master Fire Sale) retire for another super cheap X2 box

I have a X1900GT but it only gets ~ 450 ppd and that's in my X2 box so I'll stick with the SMP client that gets more ppd.
