My monitor seems to be dying, and I hope someone can give me a general sense of whether it is repairable and whether it would be cost-effective to do so.
My monitor is a 17" Hitachi Super Scan Elite 630 (a high-quality shadow-mask monitor I purchased just over three years ago).
It has just started manifesting the following symptom: it has been flickering through various slight colored tinges, so that everything on the screen is slightly green or blue or red. Obviously this is most noticeable with white backgrounds. I run it at 1024 x 768, at 85 Hz on a GeForce 2 GTS.
Anyone have any idea whether this is worth fixing?
Thanks!
