Im the opposite. 20 years ago i was all about multiplayer UT 99, original Rainbow 6, Diablo, etc. Couldnt get much into single player games it was all about multi.

Nowadays with the amount of cheating/hacking going on in most games it has really turned me off of multi player, and most companies do nothing or little to stop it. Back in the day there was so much less cheating/hacking going on. But today i just dont have time to listen to whiny teenagers talking on there mics and tons of cheating/hackers. So i focus almost all my game time on single player.

Hmm Planet Coaster. I just found out about this game and ordered it off Steam! Hope it is good if not there always the refund option! This may be a single player game that renews my interest!

I loathe most MP games because 9 times out of 10 the community is toxic and unwelcoming. Thus I tend to play single player games more often than not.

If I had a nickle for every time I heard someone say or type "get gud scrub" or "noob!" or some other insult that is slung out to people who are new or just not familiar with the game yet I'd be rich.

Quite the opposite.. I can't stand multiplayer anymore. Battlefield 1 has been the recent exception but I'm probably quitting within the next few weeks. In contrast, my Steam counter says I've put 520 hours into Fallout 4... I might pick up the updated Skyrim because while I did play it years ago, I lost my save and never touched the DLC.

The last MP game I played was World at War, and I only played it because everybody at work who played it convinced me to get it. When they stopped playing it, I did too.

Didn't touch a MP game till Titanfall, which was fun in a way that nothing had been since Unreal Tournament. The only other game I played online except for Eve was Homeworld, and a little bit of DOOM.

For the most part, I'm a single player guy. I prefer rich, story-based experiences, vs fast-paced frantic and frankly boring, multiplayer.

I got tired of MMOs and other multiplayer games a few years ago. Nearly all of them are boring grindfests, and even the ones that aren't push in-game purchases or run on the free-to-play model. I prefer games that have a distinct ending rather than just drag on until you get bored, the developers ruin the game, or the servers eventually are shut down.

Plus, people can either make or break the experience of a multiplayer game, while good single player games offer a more consistent experience. I much prefer a skillfully crafted story in a single player game to the grab bag of multiplayer.

With a few exceptions, I mostly play single player games. It is getting harder to find games that actually engage me though. I'm having fun with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided now, and before that I played a ton of The Witcher 3, but it takes that caliber of game or better to actually entertain me these days. I bought the new gears of war, but I don't know if it's going to be good enough to keep my attention or not. It's pretty but it just feels sort of shallow compared to the aforementioned games. I just need a bit of depth these days.

You might like Spiderweb RPG's, as well as various one-off games like "The Stanley Parable" or "Her Story".
I've played them. I also enjoy the "walking simulators" games, like Ethan Carter, The Park, etc.

I'm also the opposite save for Hearthstone (which I'm taking a break from). Sometime I just wanna fire up a game, jump in for 20-30 minutes, and jump out. Single player is perfect for this.

Wow was a great MMOPRPG, its just they are both used by "PEOPLE" and it seems the lowest is the most common

I think Blizzard's approach to making WoW more accessible to the common folk has tarnished my image of game difficulty. Back in the day, I had no qualms with a lot of the grind, because that's all I knew. However, now that the game is usually a bit easier to access some variant of the content, I'm finding that any attempt to institute that sort of harder mode content comes across as rather negative to me. Essentially, I think it's like getting the carrot and then having Blizzard take it away. (Amusingly enough, they did take our Carrot on a Stick away. )

What about Overwatch ?

I don't think Overwatch is that bad compared to what I've seen in other communities, but there's definitely some toxicity. Overwatch is having a free weekend on PS4, Xbox One and PC next weekend (I believe Nov. 19-21) if you want to give it a try.

If it wasn't for MMORPG's move from group-syntric to "solo friendly", I'd most likely have spent some time playing them, but ever since WoW turned their game into a super solo friendly game, every MMORPG has done the same. This in turn has made the group aspect of MMORPG's much more difficult to get into, and often when you do, the super easy mode that has followed, makes it like a group of solo individuals, rather than a team that works together.

Since WoW's 3rd expansion (I stuck it out in WotLK, as I noticed how MMORPG's have spiraled into solo games), MMORPG's just have not been fun.

Always been a single player type of gamer... my own pace sort of thing. People have always driven me nuts online, save for the very early days of Xbox Live... when mature, good-natured people actually went on there to have fun and not curse and insult everyone. The ironic part of the whole thing was that I was 13 or 14 years old at the time; it wasn't until several years later until the user base took a massive dive--one that it would seemingly never recover from.

Today, there are entire communities that are dedicated to hacking and cheating servers. People claim it doesn't happen, but those are the typically the people who think that their $35 antivirus suite is bullet proof.

I'm a single-player gamer. Even the MMOs I play (Marvel Heroes, Star Trek Online, Star Wars TOR) I play for the single-player content not the endgame raiding.

I don't have the twitch reflexes or patience for PVP FPS any more, and I'd rather experience the story content in MMOs than farm raid bosses for the gear treadmill.

I'm the opposite, I can never get into multiplayer games. Probably has something to do with having no real life friends that play games.

heh, same. I sorta like MMO's, but only if the game can be played mostly single player with little detraction. I like teaming up from time to time to do quick runs of whatever, but in addition to none of my friends playing games, I just don't like devoting more than an hour at a time to have to focus on doing some complicated team bullscrapple. I AFK a ton, and I will never set any kind of daily schedule to be logged in to some game to do stuff with people.

I cant get into single player games at all anymore, I havent finished any of the last few Ive tried. I loved the early Max Paynes but didnt even get halfway through the third. I barely touched the last Bioshock, and that was after it sat on my desk wrapped in cellophane for well over a year. I cant even get myself to stop playing BF1's multi player long enough to even try the campaign.

I've been finding that I have a lot of trouble getting into deep single player games anymore. I still buy them and play for a bit, but I get bored with them quickly. Steam's refund option has saved me quite a bit of money as a result.

Don't get me wrong, I still play a lot of games. But I am gravitating more and more to simpler games that I can get a quick fix from and then move on. For example, I'm replaying Broforce now and am having a blast with it. Especially because they added a huge number of playable characters since I last played the game.

I find MMO's to be pretty crappy single players games, so I just don't bother with them now, since most are designed to be more like single player games. Offline single player games have better stories and quests, and more interesting combat systems for the most part.

Couch co-op and LAN will always be better than online, but those concepts are more or less heresy and blasphemy to today's developers and user base

Indeed they do. But I still find that I need a fix for mindless grinding, leveling, and pointless questing from time to time. If the mechanics are fun with interesting skill and build choices, I can easily enjoy that MMO. Sometimes they do have nice combat systems, but like everything else in an MMO (well, even SP for that matter), cool mechanics get repetitive in the end. I never play MMO for story--I tend to think they don't even exist in those games, anyway. I play SP games for story...well, for the most part. And immersion. Even if the story sucks, I can give it a pass if there is a well-developed world to explore and some fun gameplay to carry you through it.

I am, indeed, growing the itch to go full into Skyrim again with the SE release. What with the inevitable collapse of the world these days, I could happily delve back into the far less terrifying reality of Skyrim.
