It's likely they are either joking, or they mean that other issues as one gets older, are much more troublesome or they are commenting, despite the fact they have probably never met you, and know very little about you.

Sooner or later, science, technology and medicine may invent a solution to male pattern baldness.

N.B. Many advertised solutions are money stealing cons which DON'T work, in my opinion.

Hah, I'm dealing with hair loss as well. Mostly from stress, but some from age. There is a few treatments but most are either lifetime commitments or surgical procedures. The best way to take care of your hair if you have male pattern baldness is to realize that hair isn't a large factor in appearance, it's how you style. I've seen plenty of friends whom are bald get hit on, etc.

the constant worrisome - oh no I lost another inch since last haircut

Be done with it now - have fun applying a razor to your skull
rather than a daily worry about another inch or two of receding hairline

I'd say that's normal through your 30s.

Now if you're 22, you'll probably be bald by 30.
