Can Geforce2 GTS handle BF:1942?

No official confirmation yet, but there was some news post on CSNation about Gooseman not attending E3 (I believe it was E3) because he was working on CS2 (not CS: CZ which is crap and should have been dropped). I think it is logical that the big 3 (CS, DOD, TFC) will be continued on the new engine since Valve now owns all 3 (DOD was released to retail stores a month or so ago) that they will want to profit further since the franchises (especially CS) have such a massive and dedicated following. If they can pull of CS on the HL2 engine properly it will likely be the most popular online team based FPS for another 4 years (CS turned 4 years old this week).

It's a shame the developers wasted so much time on CS 1.6 which no one cares about, and CS: Condition Zero, and CS: Xbox (although it's good to get more awareness of the game out). They should have been focusing 100% efforts on building CS2.

Yes BF1942 can easily be playable on it!

My 1700+ A7n8x-d with 512megs of ram and a geforce2 gts-v 32meg ran the game just fine at

a) 800*600 with all details jacked up

b)1024*768 with details at medium



How do you try to tell me that the Geforce2 couldn't do that? I had that Geforce2 in there for atleast 3 months before I "upgraded" to my Geforce4mx420@460 speeds (Hey that G4mx had TVout which is what I wanted and it looks great!).

I know it ran fine because I actually HAD that setup...

Never tested UT2003 on it though... :\

UT2k3 demo was generally between 15 and 30 fps on my gf2 gts, athlon 700. I haven't played it since upgrading the CPU.

1942 on high details gets below 30fps in 1942 and way below 30 in UT2003, for many people that isn't playable since aiming is diffcult and sluggish at best.
