I need a car for a couple months. That's too short for leasing and way too long for the car rental places in the airports. Is there no way to get one for that amount of time?

Maybe I need to find someone who doesn't need theirs and return it later.

Kind of wondered what you were getting at with a blank post. Still can't have my car though.

wow... that's a first.

stating your location might help here...

and seeing that you only have 70 posts here... the chances of someone trusting you with their car is pretty slim.
not that # of post should say anything about member's trustworthy... when so much of it is done in neffs.

i wonder how the insurance factor will work out.

i think this is probably the major reason why your family and friends will be the only brave souls for such act.

$100 & you can keep my Lebaron. I guarantee it will run for that long, at least! It needs some work, but nothing urgent that couldn't wait until you got rid of it!

We may be geeks here but don't mistake geeks for stupid morons, there's usually a big difference.

They said I would pay 20-25%, the difference between the wholesale and retail price.

I don't think it'll matter but I live near Wash. DC

haha...

well said.

and as for purchasing a used car and then reselling after...
unless you know someone who's looking to take over your car...
it's not worth it.
you'd have to get insurance, registration...

at the end... it won't be worth your headache...
not for a month or two.

Sure, you can have mine. It's sitting at the dealership. Just sign some papers and it's yours for a few months. After, you can give it back to me

Is it really that much work to buy and sell a used car?

I already have insurance so I'll just need to add a new car to the plan. Waiting in line to switch the owners name may be a pain but maybe not too bad.

Doesn't GM have a program where they lease lease-turn ins for short periods of time? I thought I just read about them bringing this back. Like 3-6 month leases. It may have been for businesses however.
