I got this OEM machine, it is an HP and it has one of those Q6600 processors I would like to in the near future OC it a bit but in my bios I have no options to change any processor settings, is there any way around this?
Thanks
Oh yeah, the machine i got is the HP A6152n, anyone else have one of these? what are you impressions of it?

HP like the other big guys (compaq and dell) tend to suck for customizing settings. Your best bet is to get a brand-name board and xfer the hardware to it. Likely, you'd need a case and better HS as well.

Does "the ctrl+f1 trick" work in major OEM BIOSes? If I press ctrl+F1 while in my BIOS (ECS 6100SM-M), on some screens that hides/unhides more advanced options.

Whichever motherboard comes with such systems usually has a) very poor overclocking features b) none whatsoever.

Your best bet is Abit IP35-E, a nice board in all aspects, great overclocking features, nice price.

Only $69.95 after $20 rebate!

I also strongly suggest to get some aftermarket cooling as well if you decide to OC, even a little bit, there are few cheap choices
out there, I recommend Freezer 7 Pro, for only $22 dollars it it so much better than the stock Intel one. Even if you have DDR2 667Mhz memory kit,
you should still be able to achieve 2.8Ghz-3.0Ghz fairly easily with this cooling:

Best of luck.

You have to ask yourself why you want to overclock before investing $$$. If your system works well and does everything you need it to do, before buying a new case, board, and power supply, I would read some posts on building your own systems. You'll void your system warranty by changing boards, and some boards won't even work with the case connections in your hp case. Also, remember that some cpus and memory don't overclock well, no matter what board you use. It's a crapshoot.
