hey, quick question: can i RMA a hard drive (specifically a seagate hdd) that makes chirping and clicking sounds?
i haven't run a dft on it yet, but it passes hdtach and i haven't had system failures due to the hard drive yet (that i know of). of course i do have a rather high percentage of os booting with automatic disk checking for bad sectors vs. without disk checking...
i am pretty sure it's because of my ram going bad (that's another story entirely, though). still, the chirping and clicking and grinding is quite annoying and i don't think those are "healthy" drive sounds anyway.
thanks--
EDIT: the drive is < 6 mo. old, i bought it brand new from newegg, and i still have the e-mail confirmation and e-receipt for it.
