Piece of the Harddrives sata port embedded in sata cable

I purchased a 320 gig Seagate sata hdd in february, although it had some of the "typical" although mild issues, like an occasional chirp known to happen with these harddrives, I didn't Rma it.
Recently, I have been upgrading my system, selling old parts etc, I planned to use the harddrive in the new build.
I have known that sata connectors can be slightly flimsy, so i always took time and care when connecting them.
BUT recently, while taking the cable off (probably the first time i did since i purchased it) i felt a mild bit of resistance, so i gently pulled the cable and it came out, but in the process it took the sata connector off the harddrive, the plastic sata connector on the hdd became stuck in the sata cable, while the copper pins stayed perfectly in place :/
So now im left with a hdd that can only be "jury rigged" into place and sata cable with my harddrives sata port stuck in it. I've never RMA'd anything before, and im assuming this is something i would need to take up with Seagate.
im just curious if this is something people would consider RMA worthy, any help would be appreciated.
