Can i use 2133mhz with 8700K or should i buy 2666mhz?

Hi. My rams:

Currently are on Asus Z170-P motherb and 6700K. I am buying 8700K and Asus Tuf Z370 Pro Gaming.

I must buy faster new ram and sold actually or not necessary ? I dont have much money and i must safe cash for gpu.


So this mean i will be have bootleneck? So right now me having lower MHz ram than Intel actually recommends slows down the CPU or not really?

I'd be looking to get at least 3000mhz CL15 memory if I was spending that much on a cpu, but in the short term you'll be ok with something slower. If you're not overclocking anyway, why not get a regular 8700 and spend the extra money on a better graphics card, or start saving for some faster memory? 8700 and 8700k are very similar at stock.

I put Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz in my recent 8700k build. I changed it from what i originally was going to get
and from reading here glad i changed it (was going to get Fury HyperX 2400mhz)

DDR4-2666 is a JEDEC standard.
