Can my laptop mobile radeon 7500 play SWG?

Just as the topic says, i'm curious to know wheter or not my Dell laptop will be able to play Star Wars Galaxies. It has a Mobile Radeon 7500 32mb. Other specs...

P4 2.4 Ghz
256 DDR
40 gig drive

Not really looking to play the game at highest graphic settings, but hoping the Radeon is enough to play the game with at least decent settings. Would be nice so I could take this with me to play at friends houses, work <snickers>, etc...

I played it on my 32mb geforce2go, so I dont see why not.

Just turn down some of the features, I think I could even run it in 10x7.

512 mb of ram would be helpful. The game should had listed that amount as the requirement.

The first requirement of SWG in Video cards is that it is TnL capable. That's your first point of reference. Secondly, I'm sure you're aware that mobility chipsets are not supported with SWG, but that doesn't mean you can't play with it (just as the gent with the GF2 Go showed). Third, if you do happen to have any problems with trying to get into game, there are multiple threads on the SWG Tech Support forums that detail the best way to get it working (most of the time, it appears that it is a driver problem, in that the proprietary drivers tend to stink. I know there are several threads that detail ways to be able to install the actual Catalyst drivers on ATi's site).

I would also recommend, as was already stated, that if at all possible, pic up another stick of RAM for that laptop (if it has two slots, or just pick up a 512MB stick). Expect to drop your settings down a bit as well visually, as with the intensity and variety of the options for Video quality, you can cripple your laptop to the point where your FPS would appear more like a still picture.

Thanks much for all the info. Upgrading to 512mb ram is definitely something I plan on doing. From the sounds of it, it seems I have a pretty good chance of being able to run the game, just not run it well. As long as the fps isn't 1 all the time, I should be fine. My character is a crafter which really doesn't require him to do any more than sit and make stuff.

Will try to install after RAM upgrade and see how it turns out. Thanks again.
