bf3 and mw3 are going to just be more of the same. if you liked one of the previous games over the other, stick with that series.
this forum loves to hate on CoD games but hypocritically loves BF games.
i've hated every bf game i ever played so no way am i buying another bf game. I liked the IW CoD games but not so much the treyarch ones. MW3 is IW but missing the people that made the previous CoD games so not sure how it will hold up.
bf3 will probably have better graphics but you can polish a turd all you want, it's still a turd.
This is one hell of a skin job: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plplAfKKFsc&feature=related
BF3 has destructible terrain, BF2 didn't. That's a major difference.
Here's the Karkand map, BF2 vrs BF3
you roll your eyes at mw3 but bf3 is just the same thing with new skins...
i don't don't understand how you can either be so blind or hypocritical, other than you are a fanboy.
and you're gonna come back and call me a mw3 fanboy so i'll head that off now and say that i would be posting this whether it was mw3 and bf3 or C&C 12 vs WC12 or Diablo 4 vs. Torchlight 4
why is it comparing BF2 instead of BC2? regardless, BF3 looks incredible
My guess is because they remade this map from BF2 (not sure if it's available in BC2 for comparison)

Blah blah blah, I like this more so you should buy it, blah blah blah.
My initial question still stands. BUY WHAT YOU ENJOYED MORE, IGNORE EVERYONE ELSE.
Which is impossible since neither game is available to play.
Depends on what you want.
The MW games are small maps, virtually 100% twitch infantry maps with very little in the way of larger stategies or tactics. Think of it as a marginal update to the old days of Quake and Unreal Tournament deathmatch. It can be fun, but a lot of the criticism comes from people who have played games like that to death and beyond for ages, starting in the mid 90s or earlier for the original Doom LAN deathmatchers like myself.
If that's your bag, go for it. It might even be better on Xbox than PC honestly, given the terrible quality/support of recent PC variants of the MW series. Plus there are a LOT more players on the 360 than on PC for that series, or any series really.
BF2 and BC2 both sucked on Xbox apparently, from everything I can gather. It looks like they really didn't match up well with the type of game that it was. BC2 on PC well, I wasn't much of a fan either. The graphics and sound were great, but it didn't have the classic feel from BF2 PC that I loved, also had smallish maps and I just didn't have that much fun with it.
BF3 looks to be the grand PC 64 player bonanza we've been waiting years for. BF2142 wasn't quite there, so it's been 6 long years since BF2 filled these shoes. But you have to be prepared when playing a game like BF2 or BF3 to really pay attention, to figure out how to work cohesively to support team strategies, to not throw your kb through your monitor when you do find yourself surrounded by complete idiots, and you have to spend a good amount of time learning the maps, the weapons, the vehicles, and just the general flow of the game. It's big enough to let you get creative as well. One of the best rushes I always got in BF2 was on large, busy maps when there would be a clusterf*ck of both teams engaged in WW3 in one particular spot, was grabbing a buddy and going to some far off realm of the map to steal a spawn spot, which really broke up the enemy territory well, and gave a flanking spawn point to come back and put the squeeze on. Add to that the general hilarity of driving that go-kart thing at like 80mph and running over some guy running across the road. Roadkills are epic fun.
Have you played bf2 and BC2? Then you'd know the battlefield series has completely changed over the past 5 or 6 years. The introduction of CoD4 into the market completely changed to dynamic of every FPS since, and it would be asinine to compare bf2 to bf3 as a reskin, partially because of the impact CoD4 has upon the FPS genre.
This has manifested itself differently for the CoD series however. The success of the CoD4 archtype of FPS has led the dev team to reuse the exact same formula since the release of CoD4, while adding a small variety of new features and graphics. CoD4 was a major shift which the rest of the industry, including the battlefield franchise has followed. It would be hard to argue that, but the CoD franchise doesn't seem to understand that remaining attached to a stagnating formula for every single release is exactly the opposite of the revolutionary steps they took with CoD4 through which they took the market by storm.
Oh and ponti my man, you really seem to want me to disagree with you, i mean, you even said that treyarch CoD games were the better ones... lol bro, it's times like this that make it hard to take you seriously... you know about the whole IW/Activision lawsuit thing right? Plus sledgehammer? Open your eyes =D
...are you allergic to genre defining games?
oh and OP - BF3 no contest, at all.
Well OP if you didnt like bad company 2 give up on FPS, bury your computer and go buy a wii or something. Whats not to like? Sure its not the best game in the world ever but its pretty damn good.
BF3 is a far superior game from every aspect, the engine, the gameplay, the online component, everything is better its a better product. MW3 is a rehash of BLOPS which is a rehash of MW2 which is a rehash of... you see where im going with this.

BC2 is still buggy, boring to play when you have to run across the map because the vehicles are gone, and you have to rely on dipshit random teammates to win games. I didn't find anything in BC2 superior, and nobody has played BF3 so you can't say that's superior either. Best we can say is the videos sure make it LOOK superior. You can't compare gameplay and the online component of something not released... period. If you decided it's better without playing the final products yourself then you're just showing your fanboyism, and your opinion doesn't mean a damn thing.
you guys have to be trolling. this is the basis of my whole complaint. how you can sit there and say the cod games a re a re-hash of previous ones and say bf3 is new just blows my mind. they're doing the same shit they always did, just in a prettier package.
we have tons of threads about how graphics don't make the game and then we see bs like this. if you like the game, fine, but to say it's not the same rehashed shit is just bullshit and hypocritical.
