Hi, I have the SL-75FRN2-RL board which isn't the ultra 400 version. I think I read some place that if the BIOS is flashed that it could run a 400 FSB; I'm planning on putting an XP3200 Barton 400FSB into it. Is this possible?
You have the original SL-75FRN-L if it's an A2 chipset. I had one and was able to run it at the full 211fsb available in the bios version I used  You just need a bios version that allows vdd chipset voltage adjustment. The CPGeek 1.3 bios is the one I used, I just set the vdd voltage to 1.8v and added a passive cooler to the southbridge and viola' 422DDR dual channel synch mode was possible. BTW, AMDMB.com and nForcersHQ.com have excellent Soltek forums so have a look
Wow!, Thats great news. I bought this motherboard for its upgrade potential. I am currently runnig an XP 1600 at XP 1800+ speed. Just looked at wcpuid and shows chiipset C1. I can still get a lot out of this board yet.
My SL-75FRN-L is running at 200FSB right now in dual channel with 2x512MB GeiL Golden Dragon PC3200 and a mobile Barton.
CPU-Z reports the chipset as: nForce2 Ultra 400. I thought the SL-75FRN-L and the SL-75FRN-RL were the same except for the missing RAID on the SL-75FRN-L?
