I'm guessing they were just civilian farmers turning up the soil with farming machinery.
You can see about 6 tracks of plowed feild behind the tractor. The pipe like thing looks more like an exhaust chimney than any kind of firearm.

Yeah, they Looked through FLIR at several Km's away into a farmers field and came to the quick conclusion that the tube shaped object had to be a weapon. What else would a person in a plowed field have with them? Of course it's a grenade launcher.

Wow that's intense and disturbing, but it's a war afterall.

I love the technology and the power associated with these grand war machines, don't get me wrong. I just think there's some ethical questions in putting this kind of video feed out to the public. It's not a video game, or a movie. Those were real people there, running and dying, even if they were on the Wrong Side. And the scene of their death shows up on the six oclock news for our consumption.

God Bless our troops and their awesome Angels Of Death. I just don't think we should be parading these graphic scenes around as entertainment (as some will invariably see them).

Very likely but you don't know that for sure. The video itself dosn't show whether the pipelike thing was brought in or was there from before.

Actually I know. The abcnews clip had about 20 - 30 seconds prior to the beginning of the video link you have seen from this thread. It showed two of the men getting out of their trucks, talking (the pilot was radioing over that the guys were "having a powwow" (haha!), and then one of the dudes took a long pipe looking object (RPG?) into the field and then went back towards the truck. Then the two dudes both walked back over into the field and that's when the video you see started...

This is a very mature view of things, something not often found in ATOT. I fully agree with you and would only like to add that it is also not a good idea because it spurns distaste by our populice for what we are doing with our military. I can understand how it would be hard for someone to watch that video. I have been in two wars and still had images of those men's families flashing through my mind as they were being hit. So someone with no knowledge or understanding of what it is like to be in combat and quit seeing your enemy as people and more as just objects has to be impacted by such images.
