As soon as this is resolved, I have a question to ask about a movie as well. PM once resolved so I can post in here.

I've been trying to find this damned vampire movie that was shown on TV as a mini-series when I was growing up. I just remember that one of the characters' names was something like Barnibus. I haven't had any luck finding anything on IMDB though...
Are you talking about Barnabus Collins in Dark Shadows?

I used to watch the original show back in the late 60s - early 70s. I think they did a remake of the show some time in the 90s.

Edit: lol, should have read through the whole thread - way late on this answer.

From the Fandango Wiki:

After discovering the charred, abandoned remains of the roadhouse, the Groovers press onward towards Dom. They make it to the Rio Grande at last and dig up Dom - which turns out to be a magnum of Dom Perignon champagne. Each Groover takes a drink before Gardner drinks a toast to "freedom and youth". The Groovers are all feeling great about this, even Phil. But Kenneth is disheartened: he's had second thoughts about calling off the engagement. Pondering a bit on the nature of love, Gardner decides to make things right. He calls Debbie, gets her to accept the engagement again, and arranges for transport for her from Dallas to the border town: Truman Sparks agrees to fly there and back. When Truman and Debbie return, Phil notices something interesting: Debbie is none other than Gardner's ex-girlfriend!

OK, I've been going nuts the last couple of days over this one...

There is a movie where it's a fighting competition, and everyone is all jacked up on steroids, and has bionic limbs and all sorts of crazy stuff. There is one competitor who goes into the competition as the only "all natural" fighter.

I remember it being Arnold, but IMDB has nothing like that listed for him....

Anyone?

Here's another one in this same vein... it might be a girl's show because my sister was older and controlled the TV but it was a brother/sister combo as lead stars who went to some secret type world through the sisters' closet somehow and there was some evil force they had to deal with.. I seem to remember some 'where the wild things are' esque monsters from it, can't really remember but my sister remembers it and can't think of the name either.

Another hijack ...

Very fuzzy memory of this .. Saturday morning cartoon time slot. Had live actors set in an apocalytic future. Had CG humonoid robots(?). I remember one scene where they find an orange and they marvel at it, since I guess oranges weren't around anymore.

Here's another one
I THINK watched this in HS, in a class.... I just remember the film's supposedly climax scene.

It's an old film. The climax scene involves the baby carriage slowly starting to roll backwards down the street (i think to the impending stairs of doom that would certainly kill the baby inside.

The scene's whole tension/gimmick is the main character to stop & save the baby carriage before it tumbles down the stairs (i think they were in a subway terminal or something). But he's having a hard time rescuing because an antagonist is shooting at him OR he had to do something else that was equally urgent. It's an ultimatum.

Finally the carriage actually ends up falling down the stairs. I vividly remember the powerful scene as it was fallinig down in slow motion and the baby crying repeatedly, coupled with the mother screaming.

Was it Doctor Zhivago or something else totally different?

wtf... i want that "OH YEA" moment but I don't have it yet. The Wiki's plot doesn't mention anything about the baby carriage scene.

The shootout scene between Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner), George Stone (Andy Garcia) and the hired thugs of Al Capone (Robert De Niro) in a train station whilst bullets fly and a baby carriage careens down stairs is a truly classic moment of cinematography and filmmaking.

that second one is The Untouchables. Andy Garcia is trying to save the baby. Capone's goons are trying to stop he and Kevin Costner from arresting their book keeper.

or are you remembering the spoof of that scene in Naked Gun 33 1/3?

although...the Untouchables scene is an homage to a similarly filmed scene in Battleship Potemkin,

I think the baby carriage scene from Untouchables was also in an earlier film called Battleship Potemkin.

oops, way late in my response.

I think Battleship Potemkin MIGHT be it because I remember the film being old and in B&W. Otherwise why would they suddenly show The Untouchables in a HS class?

Negative... definately not Running Man. This is a completely different type of thing. More fight oriented than chase oriented.

That's probably it. My first thought was Untouchables/Potemkin. not sure if there is a baby carriage in Potemkin, though...and I also thought there was no shooting. I haven't seen it so what do I know? I've seen clips of that scene though...
