Can someone please recommend a good heatsink/fan for an ATI X800 video card?

Zalman VF-700 or 900 is a good option.

I have mine cooled with Zalman's massive dual heatpipe heatsink; it's silent but the installation is a bit consuming.

Okay... first of all... get something ASAP or you will fry your vid card, guaranteed! It's doing a death knell...

What do I run on my production machine? A Sytrin KuFormula VF1 Plus, works great, but it's kinda esoteric for most ppl's taste... however, if you're a geek, you might like it too...

Here's the cooler that recently dethroned my VF1 Plus -- the reigning King!

If you want something different -- kind of an old idea, that's been resurrected -- check out the Vantec IceBerg 6. You'll be the only guy that owns one, so instant bragging rights, you know? You can tell everyone how it dropped your case temps by 6º C...

Otherwise, you can always be like everyone else and buy a Zalman... I guess...

Surprisingly, Thermaltake's recent TMG coolers are actually very quiet. You could use the TMG AT1 for your particular card.

NO it will not fit. I have it, it is for the X1800/X1900 series cards only. The mounting holes are totally different on the X800. The Arctic Cooling ATI silencer 4 that I posted above is made for the X800 and is cheaper to boot, only $10 before shipping.

This is what my vote is for, unless the OP can't use a dual slot solution (which would invalidate most aftermarket units). It should do a better job of cooling than the stock unit ever did, do it at lower noise levels and spit the hot air out the back instead of heating up the inside of the case. Win, win, win.

VF700 is more than enough, I had one on my X800GTO2 flashed to X850XT with not trouble at all except for clearance issues on my old motherboard.

The Silencer can also present clearance issues in certain cases. Never said the Silencer wouldn't work either, just presenting an option that I know works from personal experience.
