Got the job, then 2 weeks later started putting gel in my hair and leaving it spikey, short sleeve shirt so tattoos show, put my earrings back in, let my facial hair get scraggly, but they don't care because of how well I do my job. I also have the loudest hawaiian shirt I wear on a friday here or there.

Hahaha, that's awesome.

why not? book cover judge etc.

However, books do not pick their own covers

No but people do, and people also write what's IN the book, so that's a moot point.

No, it is the whole point of what I have been saying.

And, the person who writes the book may not be the person who picks the cover. (Made me think of Spinal Tap's 'Black Album' aka 'Smell the Glove' and the quote that goes something like; "You should have seen the original idea for the cover. It wasn't a glove, let me tell you" )

I judge people on there appearances and I am rarely wrong.

I find this is often true in my experience as well. However, I never conclude anything about people based on appearances. I only theorize about them. While I am right most of the time, there are cases where I am wrong and I don't feel it is fair to those people even though those cases are few in number. It's important to keep your mind open with everything.

People always SAY you should keep your mind open but almost no one does it.
How many people have an open mind about religion or the klan, just to name two examples.
I am not saying these are good things but people do not tend to have open minds about them.

Yes, that's right. It is an idealistic goal. What is important is that we all strive to do our best to reach the goal while understanding that we will never fully make it. Life is full of good habits that should be practiced like this one.

How do you judge yourself based on your appearance?

Success, Confidence, Class....

Snobery, materialism, shallow...

Oh I'm sorry, I thought we were playing the synonym game.

"And the sign said

long-haired freaky people need not apply

So, I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why

He said "You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do"

So I took off my hat and said, "Imagine that, huh me working for you"
