Can the PC compete with the ps3 for things like arkham asylum?

Had a ps3 for a while, and uncharted series, arkham asylum, GTA and these type games are brilliant. Sports games too like Fifa.

I hate FPS without a mouse so bought my 2500K gaming rig recently. FPS (BF3, Crysis) and rts games are brilliant.

I can never imagine games like batman being good on the PC though for some reason.

Are games like batman still good on the PC? Seeing batman gliding around on a 40inch HDTV on the ps3 was really good. My PC screen is 1920x1080 at about 23-24 inches or so.

Would batman on the PC with a controller still be brilliant? I suppose the PS3 doesn't run the game in 1080 so the PC might look better?

Maybe it just the set up/positioning. I mean, 40inch TV laid in bed i can stay forever with the easy controls. Sat at my desk playing it isn't maybe as relaxing. But FPS, sat on the PC desk is much better than sprawled on the bed trying to aim with the bloody analogue stick.

Comfort for ps3 games and big screen. PC games need accuracy and to be sat to attention at the desk!??

Not quite the right forum.

You can plug an Xbox 360 controller into the PC and play the game identically to the way you would on console. A PS3 controller will also work provided it's plugged in to USB and you pick up the right drivers for it.

Yes, it works fine. There are a few different ways to connect game controllers to your pc. I have mine hooked to a 70" and use a PS2 controller. Works great.

Like other people said it's pretty easy to get the same setup using a PC, but I've played a couple of action console games on my PC monitor and it's still fun. It depends a lot on how much you've invested in your PC setup, I have a 27" screen so my screen doesn't feel that small compared to my 47" TV since I'm sitting a lot closer.

You could hook up a Xbox controller up to your pc and then plug your pc into your tv and get a wireless keyboard and mouse...that would be pretty sweet lol

Cuz they need to be played with a controller
(same as a Streetfighter game or such on a keyboard = /killself)

And just like a First person shooter, should be played with a mouse.

I think its like a sensory thingy...
My brother has Resident Evil 4 for the Wii... and its awesum.... on the pc... it sucks monkey balls.
(as a exsample, but thats mostly due to how it was portered and not being able to use mouse to aim with ect).

As said you can hook your TV to your PC as well as a multitude of gamepads. Plus you get anti aliasing, higher supported resolutions, and physX if you have an Nvidia card. Unless it's a completely unplayable port with gamebreaking bugs the PS3/360 can't compete with the PC...

like many before me said i think it can...the only difference is that you have to put a little more effort into it and there are some few additional cords you have to install.

What additional cords? The PS3 has to be connected to the TV too.

You can buy 25' HDMI cables on Amazon for cheap. So you might not even need to move your TV or computer.

Then you just plug a Logitech gamepad into the computer. It's not hard at all if that's what you want to do.

I play Darksiders like this and games like MLB 2011 or whatever it was. No issues or problems and a lot of fun.

Depends on your setup and PC.

Remember that you can hook up your PC to output to your TV and you can get Xbox and PS3 controllers working wirelessly with your PC as well, so essentially you can have that same sofa/controller experience with the PC except for the graphics won't be completely shit.

Getting my PS3 controller working with my PS3 and wiring it through my living room 1080p projector was the best thing I've done in ages, I've been enjoying the typical sofa experience of the consoles with my PC, and it's really easy to set up, all i needed was my PS3 controller, a cheap-as-chips bluetooth dongle, and a cheap 10m HDMI cable.

Needless to say Batman is going to look literally 10x better in proper HD 1080p with maxed out settings and 8xAA/16xAF, it will make console Batman look like it's been done in crayon.

Exclusives are the only reason to own a console today.

I can't believe someone would play Batman AC NOT on a pc. Mouse/keyboard is perfect for it.

I've only played AA, and the KB/Mouse setup was perfect for me. This is one of the best ports I've played. Great graphics, smooth and responsive controls, etc.

I have my PS3 controller hooked up to my computer with drivers, works great.

Though its for Super Meat Boy and the likes, FPS are way better with a mouse.

Like, a thousand times better on mouse than controller.

While I agree about the PC thing (after the patch) I disagree with the controls. Using KB + M was terrible compared to the controller. I tried to do some of the "fly through rings" challenges with the KB/M and couldn't. With the controller it was not an issue. This game was very much designed with a controller in mind, and everything I tried ended up working better on the controller.

I pretty much can't imagine playing anything with a controller. It's so imprecise I have not control over where I'm facing, aiming etc. I tried the space marine demo on PC and PS3, and with the latter I kept shooting into the ground and running into walls.. No thanks. I'm sticking to keyboard and mouse. The PS3 is just for rock band.

As for screen size etc; I think I'd still prefer 1080p with AA on 24" from 3-4 ft away to sub-720p from ~12 ft away..

I too thought KB/mouse was perfect in Arkham Asylum. Out of curiousity I switched to my 360 controller and the game was unplayable for me.

are you trying to start a flame war?

anything which is available on the PC will be much greater then what the console can do.

The PC has a far superior gpu prowess, and is not CAP'd at 30fps which most consoles are.

The PC has 3D Stereoscopic ability if you pay for it, while the console cant.

The PC has a far better processing engine vs the console.

The PC can also take a Xbox Controller if you have a wireless xbox dongle, or if u have the usb xbox controller.

I can litterally go on forever, but if the game is available for both PC and Console, hands down the PC will beat the console forwards backwards silly.

It's very much a question of taste. I played through AA on the 360 first, and honestly it was much much easier for me with KB/M on the PC later then on the console. The reaction time on mouselook helps too much with combos. Situational awareness is too important, and control pad look just ain't fast.

It's main problem with poorly chosen default binds.

A PC connected into an HDTV using a wireless 360 controll will lay waste to B:AC on console with better graphics and performance.

As far as playing BF3 with a controller on console ? lol ? That is like comparing a pinto (console) to a lambo (pc). There are a few games that play better on PC with a 360 controller rather than a kb/m, I think BAC is sort of one of them for the button mashing aspect, but turning and looking around is still painful, so it's a toss-up.
