Can this 3dmark2k1 score be right...

I was flipping through maximumPC the other day and i decided to try benchmarking my system in 3dmark2k1 just like they do. So I ran my tests at 1280x1024 @ 32bit color and got a score of a little over 5100. That by itself isnt what makes me curious though. What makes me curious is the fact that I scored 26.4fps in Game4. The Ultimate Gaming Machine that MaximumPC built a few months back only did 18.9. How is this possible? Am I doing something wrong? I only have a 900mhz Tbird and an o/c'd GF3 Ti200(240/550) with 448MB of PC133.

The first thing that comes to mind is Drivers. Depending what they used, and what you used

I don't think any processor speed helps 3dmark all that much, it's EXTREMELY GPU limited, Check your drivers and your card settings.

what everyone else said. and your oc'ed gf3 isnt doing any good probably. you could run it at stock and i imagine you would get the exact same score. i went from a gf2 ultra to a gf3ti200 stock on an athlon 800 and my fps increase in games was 0, literally (only increase in 3dmark2001 was the nature score). the cpu just cant pump out enough info for the gpu. so no need to overclock. we'll see when i order my xp1700 next week if i need to

Not true Miken... Consider a 400Mhz with a GeForce III then a 2.0ghz with a GeForce III.
